Question and answer
Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?
A. How easy it is to reduce or even prevent the need for repairs. Routine maintenance of a set of doors or windows is critical to the utility and longevity either. Simple cleaning and proper lubrication can save a customer hundreds of dollars in repairs or even more if having replacements due to a door or window failure from lack of maintenance.
Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?
A. Simply put, pride in workmanship. On every service call our goal is to provide the customer with superior service repairing or replacing doors or windows. By continually honing our skills and knowledge of the industry, we continue to insure our customers' prices will be less then our competitors for each service we provide and the overall cost vs. benefit to the customer is apparent by our growing referral base.
Q. What do you like most about your job?
A. Every door call we make is different, similar maybe but more often similar only because there are doors or windows involved... each service call has a high potential for a new experience doing the same type work day to day. Being able to repair a customers doors or windows and make them happy or even elated about our service is a very rewarding feeling and takes the "work" out of the work.
Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A. How do I take care of my sliding door tracks? Aluminum or Vinyl doors or windows all need to be maintenanced and protected from the elements to operate effectively and efficiently. Routine cleaning and lubrication with a non-petroleum based product such as silicone spray can help improve the life of the frames and mechanical parts of the door or window. Routine lubrication of rollers prolongs the life of the roller. We recommend lithium grease, again a non-petroleum based product.
Q. Do you have a favorite story from your work?
A. Undoubtedly our favorite stories of door calls involves the customers. There are so many different folks we've met that have been so kind and gracious with us and provided us with countless stories; it's hard to say which is a favorite when they're all pretty great. One such involves an elderly man in his early 90's and his incredible slightly younger wife of 60+ years... they kept fussin at one another about what they wanted us to do for them; as it happened they didn't need door or window repair and simply wanted little things done around their home... we couldn't refuse the work and didn't want their money; we were so amused by their playful and loving banter, if we could afford it we'd have hung around with them all day. What an incredible pair these two... since that first day, we've been over there a dozen times to do the simpliest of things for them, hang a mirror, wash the shutters, remove a cat door... whatever they want, we're on it and glad about it.
