Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: I don't know that my work stands out from others. I mean, choosing a designer is very personal. My process may stand out in that I take a very logical, analytical approach to reach a creative end. But I wouldn't compare my work to others. All great designers are great and it's most important to choose someone that you can work with for the long haul. It would be a shorter list to tell you what I don't like about my job. There is only one thing, really: vendors who I have to chase. Everything else about design-even the headaches-is like the air I breathe. I live for it.

FAQs

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

Goodness...my career history is grueling. I tried everything. I was very experimental in my approach to life and purpose which has probably set my success back by several years. But at one point, I asked myself what I really enjoyed through all of my experiments and it was obvious-my love of design and furniture was unwavering. So I started college...again, this time for a degree in interior design.

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

Is there a common type of job? Each of my jobs has been as unique as my clients! From simple staging to project managing multi-million dollar renovations on land and on sea, there is little I haven't done. But there is so much more to do! I have a restaurant design underway and I'd like to do a hotel someday soon. I better get on with it...

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Make sure you hear from past clients. This is a field where almost everyone says they can do it or have a friend they can "recommend." Training in interior design is about safety, code compliance, and layers of nuances that contribute to great design. It's so much more than putting a couple of fabrics together that work with a paint color.
