Etiquette Manor is now open in Coral Gables.

We teach the meaning and history of manners and etiquette as practiced in North America. For children, we use fun and interactive games and tools since by understanding why and how manners came to be, children can make independent decisions to use their power derived from good manners to affect others for good.

For adults, the same history is important but instead of games, we use role playing and other adult education techniques to ensure retention through application.

Classes are available now for 1st through 5th graders and 6th-9th graders. We accept teens and adults.

We have five-day programs and private one-hour sessions. We also offer summer classes.

We are located at 6915 Red Road, Suite 217, Coral Gables, FL 33146.

Question and answer

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. When children, as well as adults, feel the power of how confident and comfortable they feel when they learn the magic of manners & etiquette, it will change their lives. From making friends, getting the job, getting along in the world feeling comfortable in any situation...these are just some of the benefits of learning and enhancing skills of protocol. The power found in using manners, really just improving on the consideration of others, returns an investment that is like depositing pennies and withdrawing dollars.

So many people teach manners and etiquette, finding someone you and/or your children really connect to, feel empowered by, and learn from is the secret. It's not always how you "hold" your utensil, but how well you understand how your actions affect others opinion of you. Consideration for others is what I teach, and the etiquette and protocol for excellent life skills is part of the process. If you are aware of your actions, you are always able to affect others, using proper etiquette and manners, it will be in a positive way.

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. Are you a professionally certified etiquete trainer?
