Question and answer

Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. Additions, Custom Homes, Legalizations, Renovations, Commercial work.

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Ask for references, allow the Architect to show some of his work, his concepts to you. Get to know your Architect on a personal- professional level. Many times we have seen a client take a cheaper way about his project and in the end was very dissatisfied. Work with the Design Professional as much as is possible.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. My simple advice is to have a concept already in mind. Your Architect will show you the best solution based on existing conditions, scope of work and potential project price. Consulting with a qualified Architectural firm at the beginning will save many dollars and wasted time in the long run.The cost of consultation money well spent.

Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?

A. Basically the client should have an idea, or at least a concept as to what he wants to achieve whether it be an addition to enlarge the home or a custom design for the new project. The Design professional will guide the client to the best path and solution available for each project.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. All our work is guaranteed- no extra charges. Our reputation at the Building Depts is second to none, the integrety and business ethics we possess carry with us in whatever venue is required of us.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. Design and Drafting is a craft of essence, from the initial concept to final conclusion of the work. we produce our work with passion, imagination and wisdom. To see a concluded project fofilling the needs and requirements of the client is reward for the soul.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. Depending on the project: if legalization- how soon can it be accomplished and our answer is "we are on time every time".
If it is a custom project clients always want a bottomline, most reasonable proce. Our prices have not changed in 12 years and we produce a quality presentation far more reasonable in price than other Architectural Firms.

Q. Do you have a favorite story from your work?

A. A client bought a home that was built in 1924. The city in years since installed a road next to the home two feet higher than the finish floor. Also, he had built three illegal additions including a second story. We were able to eventually legalize the home, prevent water from entering the propert from the road and make the city and the client very happy at the same time. The structure was historical.

Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?

A. We are dedicated to producing the best possible product for the money. We value our clients, their wishes and lifestyle. All projects are designed with the client in mind as if the client had designed the project himself.

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. I was a general Contractor in California. The Design Professionals in the area were all taking to long to complete a project. Time is money and so I endeavered to begin the design process as well as the building process "in house". The concept saved thousands of hours and resulted in a better design at a more reasonable cost

Q. Tell us about a recent job you did that you are particularly proud of.

A. Legalization of illegal offices in an existing building. The argument had been on going with the Fire Marshal for 10 years. We took responsibility of the project and legalized it in 90 days.

Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?

A. Learning is a constant experience- yes we participate in continuing education

Q. What are the latest developments in your field? Are there any exciting things coming in the next few years or decade that will change your line of business?

A. Our future in the industry is clear, respect our environment- produce sustainable designs capable of saving money and the planet we all live on.

Q. Describe your most recent project, what it involved, how much it cost, and how long it took.

A. Information withheld in respect of our client

Q. If you have a complicated pricing system for your service, please give all the details here.

A. Pricing is simple- we work by the page, not by the hour or square foot, or percent of construction cost. This is how we are able to sustain low prices and maintain quality to our clients

Q. If you were advising someone who wanted to get into your profession, what would you suggest?

A. You must love the craft- drafting and design is far more involved than merely drawing lines. If you have a creative element to yourself and enjoy watching your concept become reality, then I sayy join us, the few design professionals that are diligent to the craft.
