Learn guitar in North Miami Beach from a career professional musician with 30 years performing experience.

Question and answer

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. I have had a 30 year performing career. During that time, I have played thousands of "gigs" with literally hundreds of different groups. Each job and each group had different musical demands but my love of the guitar and my interest and respect for all styles of music made me welcome the challenge. I am not confined to just a few genres. I believe in teaching students fundamentals while tailoring their repertoire to their specific musical interest.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. Sharing the fun of playing good music is the most satisfying aspect of teaching. The confidence and self discipline gained from playing an instrument is valuable far beyond music appreciation. Good music does not have to be complicated. The simplest song on a well tuned guitar is a pleasure to hear and perform.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. FAQ:
Q - Is my child old enough to learn the guitar?
A - The age of ten or older is ideal. Lack of hand strength for holding down the guitar strings can be a problem for younger children. There can be exceptions, of course, but this is my general advice.
Q - What kind of guitar should I start out with?
A - The fingertips of the left hand will hurt until they grow calluses. An acoustic nylon string guitar is easiest on the fingers.
Q - How long will it take me to get good?
A - That is entirely up to you. Leaning to play an instrument is a physical process. The most important thing is to play every day. Consistency is the key as far as developing physical coordination. For example - if your goal is to practice 70 minutes a week, you will get much better results from practicing ten minutes every day than practicing 35 minutes on two different days.
