FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
By law, in the State of Florida, massage therapists need to complete 24 hours of continuing education every two years.I usually complete about 100 hrs every two years. My next project this year is to complete a certification on Esalen Massage in California. I had already taken some classes at The Esalen Institute and I am totally taken by it.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I grew up using alternative medicine instead of conventional one. Someone invited me to a massage class one day and I felt in love with massage therapy. In massage school I was introduced to oriental medicine and I was fascinated with it. After completing the massage certification, I went to acupuncture school and years later to holistic nutrition school. The more I learned the more I felt I needed to learn. I am always staying current with new modalities that can help me get even better and faster results with my clients.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Since I have been a therapist for over 20 years I do many different types of jobs for my clients. I see clients that are looking for a very good, deep, detailed kind of massage as well as clients that have pain and come to me for pain management. I have a large clientele of female clients that come to me with women related issues (prenatal or postpartum massages, relaxation, menstrual cramps, headaches, scar's adhesion after surgery, etc) . Since I do medical massage, I have doctors that refer patients to my office. I also have athletes that come for Thai massage since I trained in Asia in this modality.
