FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Yes, both my massage therapy and facial specialist licenses are renewed biannually and have continuing education requirements. Additionally, I have a thirst for learning which I satisfy by taking classes on-and-offline, investing in videos, conferences and seminars. Knowledge is power and another way to best serve my clients!
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
For many years I was a highly stressed out finance professional... afflicted with the corresponding aches and pains! I was blessed to have received the best care from a licensed massage therapist who restored my aching muscles and relieved a good deal of stress. I opted to switch career paths in 2003, and the natural choice was in the field of wellness. I chose therapeutic massage and skin care as these are complimentary and allowed me to help others regain a more balanced and harmonious life!
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Look for a licensed massage therapist/massage establishment and then spend a few minutes talking with the therapist. Each therapist has unique skills, style and experience, so it makes sense to try to match these with your individual needs and preferences. If you are also interested in skin care or body treatments, question the professional license, products and experience in various facial treatments (ie microdermabrasion, peels, oxygen, microcurrent, ultrasound, LED photo-rejuvenation etc) and mention any specific concerns you may have. Take advantage of any complimentary consultation offered and, of course, trust your instincts!
