Question and answer

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. What I try to do is shoot photos that tend to be unique in nature. I think a lot of times photographers fall into the trap of finding a formula that works, and then using that same formula over and over again. The photos look different only because they feature different people, locations, or outfits, but it's basically the same ideas getting recycled over and over.

My goal is to create unique photos. I don't follow any established formula going into any particular project. Each project is a fresh start for me.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. Being able to create something new and different. Photographing a person in a way that makes them look completely different then they are used to seeing themselves look in photos. Interacting with people.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. Question: What makes a professional photographer different then a hobbyist with great equipment?

Answer: The easiest part of a photographer's job is to actually go out and take photos. The more difficult part is interacting with your subject in such a way that you encourage them to show for the camera the look that you want to capture; Or, coming up with new concepts and ideas that are compelling in such a way that they capture the interest and imagination of the viewer.

The actual photo taking part is not as important as the rest of the process.
