FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing is pretty uncomplicated. I just charge a "sitting fee" (which most people are aware of). I then put the images in a protected directory with a shopping cart so my clients can then buy what they want and in the quantity they need without me being in the middle. This helps them with budget, gifts, etc. Besides the basic stuff, the service I use allows my clients to put their images on metallic paper, framed, put on mouse pads, buttons, stickers, etc. So, there is a lot of ways their images can be used for marketing purposes if that is their desire.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I'm always learning new techniques and fine-tuning how I can be more efficient. For example, I have fine-tuned my process for getting from shoot to proofs within a couple of hours.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have always been interested in photography when my dad introduced me to it. Somehow I got into doing camerawork for shooting TV commercials. Then one day while waiting for a key talent to arrive, a couple of the girls on-set asked if I could shoot some pictures for their port for America's Next Top Model. They had their makeup done, we had a set, and I had my DSLR with me. For a while I did both but found photography to be so much more interesting. And the skills from both videography and photography are easily transferable.
