Question and answer

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Ask questions about the experience they will get for their money. Henna is more than an art, it's an experience!

I am not like a typical henna artist. I don't hand you a book and ask what design you want. I work with your energy to give you a custom one of a kind henna design. I spend some time talking to you and getting an idea of your tastes, then I use your energy to create a unique henna design for you.

I've been doing henna since 1999 and love every minute of it. I do any style, tribal, Indian, Arabic, African, modern, or traditional henna. I'm always looking for a challenge, so challenge me!

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. Henna is never ever black, though the paste appears black as it dries. Henna always leaves a brown or brown red stain. Products called black henna are extremely dangerous and can cause life long difficulties.

Educate yourself about henna fakes that are marketed as real henna. I've created a website all about henna with a page all about safety here...
http://shophenna.com/safety.htm

We only use safe natural henna made with fresh henna powder, lemon, sugar, tea tree oil, and lavender oil infused with as much positive energy as I can pack into it! I mix my henna myself so I know exactly what's in it!

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. What are the ingredients in your henna? There should be nothing hard to pronounce in henna ingredients and any artist should be willing to share the ingredients in their henna. Be safe! Only use safe natural henna!

What color will it be? Henna is NEVER black. The artist should be using henna that stains a brown or brown red.

How long do I need to leave the paste on my skin for good color? The answer should be a few hours or more to be sure the artist is using safe natural henna.

How do you charge for henna?

Where do you do henna? Do they come to you or do you go to them? If you do to them is the henna done at a store, in a private home, or some other setting.

Can I see recent pictures of your work? Every good henna artist should have plenty of recent pictures to share!

Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?

A. Everything you need to know about having henna done by Jody is here on the henna FAQ page.
