I tutor k-12. Most commonly elementary school.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
My most recent tutoring client was a 6-year old boy struggling with some of the 1st grade concepts; I tutored him for 10 weeks. He had recently experienced some major changes in his life when his parents' separated and this caused him to start falling behind. I saw him just a few days ago and he was so proud to tell me that he was promoted to 2nd grade and that he was doing much better with his math and feeling more confident about school.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Teaching is a team effort. Tutors therefore need to work with parents and classroom teachers in order to achieve the best results for the student.
