Liana has been teaching my daughter for 8 years and now I am proud to say I am her student too. I was always impressed by her strong music background and upbringing despite her humble demeanor. She has a true love and passion for music, and such an amazing touch too. For Liana music does not stop by the notes needs soul and personal interpretation. She has such high regard for creativity and sharing your emotions true music. Despite her strong technical background she is not rigid in her methods. Instead she uses the method that matches the student's needs or maturity at that time. She will introduce a new level when you reach a certain milestone, so you are not crushed. These days I cannot wait for Wednesdays to come because my lessons are on Wednesday evening. And when my daughter has a conflict I am very happy to take her lesson no questions asked. With Liana I have done 2 hour lessons and I can tell you it goes by in a heart beat. Her repertoire is impressive, so are her methods. We pick the songs together. Our lessons feel like therapy. I get back home so relaxed and happy -- I am sure my family can attest to that. If you are looking for a piano teacher I cannot recommend her enough. Words cannot express the gratitude my family has for Miss Liana. She has taught someone in our family for the past 6 years or so. My daughters began taking from her first. My oldest daughter had done well in piano lessons with a previous teacher, but I knew that she wasn't learning correct technique or good sight-reading skills. That is when we switched to Liana. After watching how quickly my daughter progressed with her, I decided I would like to take piano lessons again. I had 10 years of lessons as a child, but I had so much more to learn! Liana very quickly saw where I needed help. She is direct about your skills or lack of skills. However, she knows exactly what she is doing and HOW to help! She can be in the next room getting her tea, and somehow she knows whether I am using the right fingering, or which note I missed. Not only that, she is very encouraging. She is quick to praise you for trying or finally "getting" something. Many times, one passage of notes can seem insurmountable to me. Liana will watch me try, then often it is just a small suggestion she makes that does the trick. She is very attentive to details and her love of music is contagious. She has become more than a teacher to me and to my daughter. We truly love and adore her. If you are looking for an excellent teacher, classically trained, who thoroughly knows the piano and how to teach it, please call Liana. You will see your student or yourself grow in so many areas of music. Oh, and that oldest daughter of mine is an accomplished pianist now, studying piano performance at Samford University. So far, she has received all As for her piano performance grade during both semesters. She was also awarded a scholarship for her talent. Though my daughter worked hard, it would not have been possible without Liana!!

I am no stranger to piano teachers. My piano venture started when I was 6 years old with several teachers some who were accomplished concert pianists. Unfortunately they were pretty old school, and favored teaching by fear rather than teaching with motivation, of course at the first opportunity I stopped the lessons, I was around 9 at that time. . 17 years ago Liana started teaching our daughters, we were experiencing a new kind of teacher. A highly spirited person, passionate about music, having an incredible musical background who plays beautifully, can speak the music language to kids and adults, very creative on getting the student motivated who made playing fun at the same time giving a strong foundation. Now I have been taking lessons from Liana for a year now she makes minutes fly during our lesson and I look forward to the next one. She even coached me to perform on recitals which was a very interesting experience, helping my personal growth. If I were to give Lianas strengths in bullets: - Accomplished pianist who has an impressive Musical resume - Adult or child, she speaks the universal music language to all. - She has the skill to teach piano to students of all levels, beginners to advanced. I know of several students who she has taught who have gone to College pursuing a Music degree. - Liana respects the students personal music taste and helps you grow in that area, she does not force feed the same songs to all students. - She does not compromise from the foundation while allowing one to venture on their own musical preferences - Liana is an extremely passionate teacher who gets thrilled when a student has a breakthrough moment - Her teaching style is customized and does not follow a strict pattern, she spends a lot of time thinking on how to reach and deliver the information the best way for each individual student. - She does not sugar coat anything, yet gives excellent constructive criticism without hurting ones feelings. She has very good soft skills. - Her expectations are realistic, she does not set the bar too high to cause student to feel like a failure, however raises the bar once the student improves after celebrating the improvement. In a nutshell she is an incredible piano teacher with a wonderful soul, I feel very lucky to be her student, and happy that our paths have crossed.

“Play me something” this strange Romanian woman commanded. It was my first lesson and I was quite nervous, not used to playing in front of people an all. I let out a romantic piece “Chopin” from Schumann’s Carnaval and I managed to get threw relatively well. When I finished this woman told me very kindly, but also very bluntly that I hadn’t any finger strength, no sound, and couldn’t even hit a key properly. “It sounds blah” as she phrased it, or something like that. I’d been playing at least 3 hours a day for the past 2 years, one of them being with a teacher and in my opinion I was fairly decent. This woman however starts going on about scales, exercises, Czerny, Hannon and all that repetitive boring textbook stuff you know about but never really bother with. “I’ve heard scales are a waste of time” I muttered “why do that when you could be practicing a piece music.” At that point she hurried me off the stool and took her place at the piano where Chopin’s Scherzo No. 2 in B flat minor proceeded to exploded out of her hands. “Look!” she says “My hands, you see finger strength!” She played threw several other pieces including Chopin’s Impromptu No. 4. I must admit I was quite blown away at the scene, having heard but never seen anyone play these pieces before. The woman knew her stuff and I agreed to do whatever she said. I’ve been taking lessons with Liana for just under a year now, and I can say that as unusual as some of the things she asks you to do are; they work, big time. How much I’ve improved over the past year compared to my two years learning by myself and with another teacher don’t really compare. I’ve at least doubled my skill in half the time while also practicing less. The exercises she teaches help build the fundamentals of piano playing. You develop real “finger strength” as she calls it, and with that you’ll learn how to play the music with a full, beautiful sound. She really knows her stuff and will teach everything you could possibly need to know about music and playing. I am immensely grateful for having Liana in my life, and would recommend her to anyone who is serious about playing piano.

With a confirmed no musical ability other than my iTunes repertoire and occasional outburst in the shower, my wife and I thought it ideal if we could have our youngest daughter learn music and piano from the very best piano teacher in the vicinity. Liana is amazing with all ages children to adults, teaching the important fundamentals and everything that goes with it! Music is a language that transcends all boundaries and brings people from all walks of life together in celebration of artistic beauty, emotion and feeling. Liana brings out the best in each of her students, dedicated to fulfilling each student's journey through the learning and love for music via piano. We are grateful to have Liana teaching our youngest.
