I was five years old when I discovered my singing voice. My youthful curiosity soon blossomed into a passion for musical expression through voice, piano, violin, and guitar. My mission is to share the musical exploration that has enriched my life. I offer private music lesson at my studio, Concordia Arts, in Audobon Park.
I enjoy performing internationally and locally. I have appeared at the White House, Amway Arena, Hard Rock Live, and the Bob Carr Performing Arts Center. In 2009, I graduated summa cum laude from Rollins College, with Honors Bachelor of Arts degrees in Music and Anthropology.
Tuition for private instruction:
* 30 minutes for $25
* 45 minutes for $37.50
* 60 minutes for $50
As a teacher, I focus equally on formal technique and personal expression. Mastering correct form provides the foundation, upon which a student's capacity for the latter may grow. I view our time together as an opportunity to encourage musical and personal growth.
My goal is to encourage discipline, while fostering creativity. Maintaining the student's interest by adapting my teaching methods to every individual is an important focus, as is engaging the student by allowing him/her choice in the material we learn in lessons. This not only facilitates a cooperative environment, but allows me to tailor my teaching style to a student's interests, strengths, and learning preferences.
I believe music theory is an important focus for a student to understand how tones relate to each other in any piece of music. These relationships will be explored aurally, visually, and tactilely in all lessons. In teaching, my goal is to encourage students to learn and grow independently. In my studio (or your home), mistakes are opportunities for improvement. For the duration of our lesson, you (or your child) are in a nurturing zone of free-expression. Join me in an exploration of personal talent and creativity.
