Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Real Estate is a full time career. Work with a professional agent with extensive experience. Our current market is quite complicated. Most real estate deals are difficult to navigate considering the tightened financing restrictions as well as the foreclosures and short sales saturating the market. Experience and dedication are the keys to a successful transaction. A true professional will assist you in every aspect of your sale/purchase and always look out for their buyers and sellers best interest. Not all real estate agent agents are created equal! Look for someone with a proven track record and the experience you need.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. There are a lot of hidden pitfalls that can be avoided by using a real estate professional. We participate in continuing education and are experts in our markets and market trends. A good Realtor knows every aspect of the business. Your agent should be able to understand and interact with every professional that will be a part of your transaction; i.e., mortgage broker, title/closing agent, attorney, home/pest inspector, lien holders, etc. Many sellers do not realize that utilizing a professional Realtor to list their home not only protects them from the liability that can come from the legal pitfalls of a real estate transaction, but a Realtor listed home averages a sales price of approximately 13% higher than a for sale by owner property. Considering the standard commission that a for sale by owner is trying to save by not using a Realtor is typically only 6%, a seller can earn approximately 7% over what they may sell their home for by attempting to do it themselves. Many buyers do not realize that there is no cost to them to work with a real estate professional.

A. How long have you been in business? Are you a full-time, professional Realtor? Do you specialize in any specific areas? What types of property transactions do you have experience with? What areas do you specialize in? What kind of marketing plan do you have? What professional affiliations do you have. What special skills do you bring to the table. Do you speak or have access to team members that speak a foreign language? What kind of special education do you have? What other experience/education makes you uniquely qualified? What will you do to help me sell/buy my home? Can you assist me with finding other professionals necessary to facilitate my home sale/purchase?
