Introduction: I specialize in making concepts clear and meaningful by adapting my tutoring to each student's individual learning style. I use many hands-on materials and provide concise notes pages to give the learner the tools to be able remember and apply the material we have worked on. I tailor the tutoring to each learner's experiences. A first-grader learning to read, a middle-school student struggling with algebra, a high-schooler preparing for SAT's, and an adult learner heading back to college have very different needs. What makes me unique is that I meet each and every student at HIS / HER own level. I have been incorporated as Seeds of Knowledge Tutoring, LLC since 2009, and have worked with over 500 clients, ranging from preschool through adult. I tutor in my home, in Palm Harbor (off Tampa Rd., near Belcher). I have converted the front part of my home into a tutoring studio, where I provide a quiet, distraction-free, positive learning environment with many hands-on materials and other resources. I see clients six days/week (Sun-Fri), and have appointments available from 9am to 9pm. I offer sessions that are 1, 1.5, or 2 hours in length. The cost of sessions are $40-$55/hour, depending on the length of the session and the type of payment plan you choose. I have taught all ages - formally and informally - as a classroom teacher, a curriculum coordinator, a teacher-educator, a home-school educator, and even as an instructor at Tampa's Lowry Park Zoo! What I have learned, through all of my teaching experiences, is that one of the most important factors in student success is the relationship between the teacher and the learner. I never forget that the learner -- as a person -- is more important than any skill or fact that they are learning! Because I know how important it is that students (and parents) feel comfortable with a tutor.
