I tried to email back and forth for almost 2 weeks and had agreed to have an estimate done with this company. They got my address and agreed to come out, but then I waited over a week with no response. I emailed asking for an update and there has been no response at all. Frustrating.

To Jason C - I would like to personally apologize for the experience you had with my company - Typically I receive 20 to 50 emails per day and at times when busy actually out in the field roofing - emails can get overlooked - so after reading your review I went through a pile of emails that had not been opened yet and discovered your attempts - unfortunately I have been very busy outside my office now for a week and 1/2 and overlooked my follow up and again apologize - I do provide a dedicated business phone number if you would have tried that you would have contacted me - I have been handling my business by phone mostly during the period you were relying on the email for communication and unfortunately have neglected that job a bit lately - I hope I was of at least some assistance pointing you in the right direction as far as the quality thatching products to do the roof and with my initial consultation - just had an uptick in business and lost track of your Lead - again my apologies and I wish you success with your project.
Best regards,James Neill

I recently had James Neill repair the roof area around my dryer vent that was leaking. He not only repaired that area, but also tended to some other potential problem areas as well. He was extemely professional and very friendly. Prior to having James give me an estimate, another company also examined the roof and tried to tell me that the entire area around the vent (including the stucco) needed to be removed and repaired at a very outrageous cost. The extra work was not necessary as James pointed out to me with pictures. He was most fair in his estimate. I will definitley use him in the future if needed. A really nice man!

I have owned several rental properties for many years, most are near the ocean in Jacksonville Beach and get much wind and rain every year.
James Neill is the best roofer I have used, and his experience in finding and repairing leaks is great. He has also replaced some roofs for me over the years. He stands behind his work, prices are fair and in rare times when he has to return....there is no charge.
Call him to do roofing for you.

I recently had James Neill Roofing replace the roof on my back porch addition. From the beginning, the professionalism was beyond outstanding. Mr. Neill did exactly what he said he would and more. I am very pleased with the job and it was completed in a timely fashion. The clean up was outstanding as well. Not one single nail was left on the ground.

After researching and interviewing local roofing companies, I selected James Neill Roofing & Waterproofing, Inc. His company received a good rating from the Better Business Bureau, and he came highly recommended from people I trust. Hiring the right contractor for this type of job is extremely important, because you are talking about the appearance and safety of your home. He and his workers showed up on time, were professional, performed quality work, left the site cleaner than when they arrived, and made the entire process stress free for me. I also found their pricing to be appropriate for the work being performed - not too high and not too low. I would not hesitate to recommend his company to anyone who needs a new roof, or work done on their roof. As a matter of fact, I recommended him to a neighbor who also was pleased with his service.

James (Tony) Neill replaced our large roof in May, 2006. We were first impressed by his professionalism and proposal. We had 4 quotes and he far outweighed his competitors. We were the second of five homes on our street that had new roofs within approximately 18 months - all byTony Neill's company. His crews do outstanding work. They are extremely efficient, courteous, meticulous and the final outcome is an absolutely beautiful roof. Mr. Neill is gracious in answering all questions asked and very prompt. We highly recommend James Neill Roofing for any roofing needs and couldn't be more satisfied with the final product!

During rainstorms we were having water come through the ceiling just above the fireplace. I called Neill and he came right over, found out that the original flashing around the chimney had been installed wrong and was capturing water. Also it had been going on for years and had rotted the roof. In one day, he tore out the affected areas, cleaned up the attic part of the building that had suffered damage, and got everything back into GREAT CONDITION!!!! And he left the work site completely clean. Fast, professional, and at a Great Price!! You have a roofing problem, I would not hesitate in a second to recommend him.

A. make sure they are "properly" licensed, get references, check them out for complaints at http://www.myflorida.com how long have they been in business.Additionally to break the aforementioned items down: in the state of Florida there are only 2 kinds of accepted roofing contractors licenses.A contractor must be STATE CERTIFIED or COUNTY REGISTERED there are no other LEGAL forms of licensing in the state of FLORIDA .Please read my blog on thumbtack on FL roofing service and there is some additional info on this subject to consider.
A. most people do not really think about the roof over their home,or business;something like a new pool, kitchen, bathroom, etc. this type of home improvement brings a great deal of gratification, due to the fact that it is an item they will use in their daily lives, and gives pleasure, however
the roof, and siding, and this type of home improvement provides the structure with protection from the elements, this protects, and preserves your home,or business, and is of vital importance. tip:get a yearly inspection of your roof.a lot of damage can occur if a problem is neglected, most people have no desire to get on a roof,it is dangerous for the average property owner.regular maintenance ie: gutter cleaning, leaf & tree debri, damage from storms, just to name a few;can be pointed out,and addressed, before a costly solution is the only answer.always hire state certified,or county certified contractors,we are required by law to be properly licensed, and insured. there is so many tips,i have covered a few,but to try to convey to you the reader all of them is impossible,i have been at it over 30 years, and still learning.
A. The things that are need to know.As far as florida law is concerned when it comes to contractors in the construction field all must be florida state certified,or registered in their respective county, and do they have liability insurance as well as,carry workmans compensation insurance on their employee's are they registered with their local occupational services dept. (occupational licenses are not qualified florida construction licenses) to check a contractors license go to: myflorida.com (the state web site) or your county building dept. (This the law and anyone who operates likes this most likely knows THEY ARE BREAKING THE LAW) If there is nothing there your not dealing with a legally licensed contractor and could very possibly get ripped off and there will be nothing you can legally do about except contact the authorities.Any one who advertises any where on any thing must by florida statute post their license information on that advertising no exception (chap. 489 fl.stat.)
A. When choosing a roofing contractor besides the licensing&insurance issues, the years the contractor has been in business will reflect on the years of experience and various weather events that have affected the roofing in our region of florida, and wear and tear patterns of a of a roof, and this takes years if not decades. This aides myself for example and I use the experiences which enables me to get things right no matter the size, style, age location or use.The skills that are developed,in my case over 30 years are lessons not easily learned quickly.Do do not just consider price only.A roof is a durable good and protective cover, and there is no reason to sacrifice the quality of your roof to chance. So choose a contractor who has around awhile and has a good reputation with a "fair price" not the "cheapest" You always get what you pay for!

A. my commitment to the quality, and integrity of the roofing service,a great deal of responsibility, and maturity is required to be in this profession.
we strive for perfection in all the jobs we do large ,or small. i(james neill)
believe in honesty, and no shortcuts,it makes it tough at times but the reward is knowing a good product has been produced, and will stand up to the test of time.
A. meeting the fine people that have hired me to take care of their roofing needs over the decades.the challenges of solving a problem that no one else could.working at new locations around the ne fla. communities, and dealing with the different architecture, working with my men seeing their willingness to work hard for me,because of their respect for me.getting a referral from a satisfied customer, and much, much more.
A. unfortunately, most folks do not think about the roof above their head until something happens, there just is not a cookie cutter question;but most are most concerned about the cost,it is an expensive product.i just tell people every situation is unique, and i will be competitive, something like that.
A. that we are as professional as a doctor, lawyer, dentists, etc.in florida we are regulated, and required to get continued education, and renew our licenses every two years.we have tremendous costs associated with our profession, and are at the mercy of commodity price changes that strain
our ability to be competitive, and the constant changes in regulations, when i first started in the roofing business, all you needed to have was an occupational license($30-40)and you were in business, not any more.bottom line most contractors are hard working, honest, and care greatly about their chosen profession.
above all we are professionals, and deserve to be appreciated.
