Introduction: I moved from CT to Florida a few years ago and immediately started rescuing Code Red dogs from Miami Dade Animal Services. I would foster them, get them healthy and then find them forever homes. I love animals so much I decided I should start my own business! When you hire me you're getting someone who loves your babies just as much as you do. I spend a lot of time with them at each visit. They get long walks, lots of playtime and snuggles before bed. I am extremely flexible. Stuck in traffic or running late from work? I'll be there. Have another pet sitter or friend that flaked out? I'll be there! I also donate part of my proceeds to south Florida rescue groups. So its a win/win. You get someone trustworthy who loves animals and you're helping rescues out too!

My dogs can be a handful. They’re small, but they’re anxious and can be distrustful of new people. Carin immediately made them feel comfortable. They’re always so excited to see her and enjoy the walks and playtime she has with them. While I’m at work, I’m don’t have to worry about my dogs getting the care and attention that they need. Highly recommend!

Caren was a life saver for me! My husband was out of town & I needed help with our dog, Tucker. Caren came by to meet us the day before, and it was obvious from the start that she has a huge heart for dogs. She is sweet & kind & I am so appreciative of her coming by twice in one day to let Tucker out. He even ate for her, & he typically doesn’t eat when I’m not home. I thought I only needed her for one day, but the next day I got a message from my husband that his arrival home would be delayed. I reached out to Caren & she was at out house within an hour. I look forward to working with Caren in the future. I love that she will stay in our home while we are on vacation. Tucker can stay in his home environment & not have to be boarded. The attached photo was taken by Caren & sent to me while I was at work. An extra touch that meant so much.

One of my dogs is very finicky when it comes to someone taking care of her. She warmed up to Caren which she doesn't do to too many people. Caren made me feel comfortable leaving both of them in her care. Highly recommend!

Paws N Claws is now my go to for any pet sitting needs. I knew from the meet and greet that my dog would be well taken care of! What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Each visit is $25, up to 4 pets. Additional pets wouldbe $5 more per visit. $100 for overnights which includes a morning and night walk. Mid day visit would be an extra charge.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I have a meet & greet with each customer before the job starts. This doesn't cost anything.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I went to Dog Grooming school. I also rescue dogs, and have 5 animals of my own. I've spent the last few years rescuing Code Red dogs from Miami Dade Shelter. I foster them myself, get them healed up and then find them forever homes. I have a lot of experience with special needs animals because of this. I've dealt with bait dogs, dogs that needed amputations, paralyzed dogs, dogs with heartworm and many more. I am so passionate about animals that I even drove one of them myself to California for the perfect family for him.
