Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. Box color will never look like Beyonce no matter what they say. PLEASE leave your color to the professionals and use salon shampoo. It will pay off in the end I promise, hair isn't something you can maintain with CVS brand or w/e is on sale. Cleanse and moisturize with proper salon grade shampoo and conditioner and you will feel the difference !!

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. I am a protege stylist so my cuts start out at $28. I strive to create the best shape possible so people can feel great leaving the salon with an amazing hair do and style tips to recreate the look at home. We show you exactly what products we used and put them in your file in order to keep track of what you need to recreate your look at home.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. I love the happy faces I see when leaving, its great to hear how much someone loves their haircut or how amazing their color looks.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. What made you get into hair? I tell them that a) I have an Aunt that was a cosmetologist and I love her very much as well as relatives that own several salons in Japan. b) I always styled my friends hair and colored it so I thought it would be a great talent to use for a career!

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. I always had friends ask me to do their hair and thought I should get paid for doing something I would love and makes people feel better about themselves.

Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?

A. I keep myself up to date on all current trends and I think that stylists should stay up to date on modern trends and styles from all walks of hair care.
