Question and answer

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. 1. Pay attention to how much they ask you about YOUR Business
2. Assess Experience specifically in the areas you need
3. Examine their Portfolio
4. Ask for their fees, billing schedule, and estimate cost for the site you want & compare to others
5. Consider all Future Options - Updates and Maintenance, Further enhancements/Growth, How much routine updating do you want to do?
6. Do you LIKE the designer? - Personality is a major factor
7. Ask around -Use word-of-mouth referrals

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. There are no governing bodies regulating the web and video production industry. There are no "set" prices on what creativity costs. Unfortunately knowing this, many agencies and freelance providers base your quote on "questionable" circumstances. In other words, if rent is due and they are short this month... your quote may be padded "just a little higher" to make sure their bills get paid!
At AdvBT you pay for what you need! We price our web development by the page - not by the hour. So your price is set based on the amount of pages you need, or can currently afford! If it's not in your budget at the moment, don't worry you can always add pages later!

Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?

A. The most important keys that a web and video agency needs to know (and should ask) are,
1. What are your goals for the project?
2. Who is your target audience?

Nowadays, it's no longer acceptable to just create a fancy web site or commercial video. You need to see results! Understanding your purpose and objectives, as well as focusing on your key audience is key to success!

At AdvBT we are focused on maximizing your ROI! Our biggest thrill is not in how excited you are about the look of the product, but rather when your return on investment has FAR exceeded your expectations!

Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?

A. I LOVE helping small businesses! In fact, I also am a volunteer SCORE specialist. I have developed and currently teach 2 Nationally implemented e-business classes.

The first class is Web Site Basics, where I teach about the fundamentals of web design, expected costs, how to hire a professional, and how to spot GOOD web design techniques.

The 2nd class is Internet Marketing and Social Media, where I teach how to grow your business using the tools of the internet.

If you are in the Sarasota area and would like to attend one of my classes, check out manasota.score.org. I would love to meet you and answer any questions you may have!
