Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: I enjoy working with people to help solve problems they're having in day-to-day operations. I am good with my hands with anything from minor repairs around the house and handyman work to typing/generating ideas and building concepts. I enjoy the variety of what I do and getting to know the people I meet.

FAQs

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

On 3/19/2014 I obtained certification as a Generac technician (Air-Cooled course). Additionally, I am currently enrolled at Eckerd College as a PEL student with a Creative Writing Concentration (Major) and a minor in Film. I have maintained a 3.25 GPA. My most current classes were Energy and the Environment (ended 7/21/14) and The Creative Process (ended 7/22/14). As you can see, I thrive on diversity.

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

Growing up, my dad's car was always in need of repair and mechanics were expensive. So, I joined the military to learn to fix cars... unfortunately, I learned to fix many things, but cars were not among them. Along the way I learned a few things here and there about cars, but my training was more focused on power generation (generators), diesel engines, heaters, hydraulic scissor lifts, small a/c units and the like. Early in my career, my supervisors found that I excelled at computer work as well, so I was put in charge of organizing and streamlining our hazardous waste program. In six weeks I turned my maintenance shop's disaster-waiting-to-happen satellite accumulation point into one of the "examples of what they should look like". I had also written a continuity guide for the next guy to take over the job, so that way, it would (theoretically) never return to the way it was. In that continuity book I provided explanations of the rules governing hazardous materials, where they could be found and critical contact information. From there forward I learned not only how to repair generators and the like mechanically, but I honed my creative/technical writing skills over the span of 20 years in the service. As a hobby, I love fantasy/science fiction games and books, so I put my skills to use in writing creatively whenever time allowed.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

The more details you provide about the situation, the better able your provider will know what to bring with them (tools, ladders, etc.). Something to consider is that we have specific tools for specific jobs, and some of them don't fit inside a conventional toolbox. So, if the fan over your stove is squealing or the idea you want to submit to kickstarter is awesome, but missing something in the way of 'replay ability', let me know!
