I am providing counseling services in Northwest Tallahassee. I have extensive experience working with families, adolescents, adults, and children.
My work with clients centers in a strong belief that Jesus Christ is our lord and healer, and I am just one of the instruments He uses to bring about healing in his people.
Before entering into private practice, I worked in various settings, including the following:
- Red Cross as a teacher for class for new mothers and a hospital liaison
- Family Services agency as a family counselor
- Armed Services YMCA as a family counselor
- Leon County Schools as a mental health counselor
- Drug and Alcohol abuse agency as a children's counselor
- Department of Juvenile Justice residential facility as the clinical coordinator
- Capital City Youth Services (CCYS) as a family and youth counselor
I received both my Bachelor's degree and Master's degree from FSU's College of Social Work
I am a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors, the Association of Play Therapists, and the National Association of Social Workers.
Question and answer
Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A. It is important to make sure that you and your therapist connect well. Not every personality fits every client, and if the fit isn't right, the therapy will not be as effective.
Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?
A. Therapy should not be a cookie cutter process. Every client is different with different needs and different hurts. I approach each person as an individual, and tailor their therapy to their situation.
