Question and answer

Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. Live presentations coaching. On-camera video commercials, and sometimes preparing people for interviews or facilitating meetings.

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. First think about your goals and objectives. Next, look for an experienced speaker and trainer. Next, interview that person during his free consultation to see if there is the synergy necessary to work together.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. I wish I knew how to work with nervous energy, how to enhance my message with body language and vocal variety, and most of all I wish I knew how important storytelling is!

Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?

A. What is your "speaking" occasion? What are your goals & objectives concerning your presentation?

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. Because I offer and deliver highly personalized and individualized services. I bring my equipment to my client's preferred location and engage in coaching privately. I also offer workshops that allow for a greater interactivity among supportive professionals with the same goals & objectives.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. I love the "look of satisfaction and accomplishment" on my clients' faces when they know they have increased their confidence and competence with regards to communicating in front of an audience or on camera.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. Can you help me get over the "nervousness"? I always say YES! And the reason I am so sure is because I use proven techniques that I personally have experience with as a Toastmaster to assist people in using nervous energy instead of fighting it.

Q. Do you have a favorite story from your work?

A. I'll never forget the day I dressed up as professionally as I could to visit a Toastmasters club and when I got there how shocked I was to discover it was a nudist club! Just try and imagine maintaining eye contact under those circumstances!!!!!

Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?

A. How much fun I make the coaching and therefore their challenges in public speaking. As a long-term trainer, I understand adult learning and more importantly understand how to make it interesting and fun!

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. I was literally tapped on the shoulder one day by my boss at work when he asked if I would consider becoming a workshop facilitator, and I said YES, of course. Once I got a taste of working with people in that context, I never looked at any other profession.

Q. Tell us about a recent job you did that you are particularly proud of.

A. I assisted a professional in Tampa who is just getting her business started to create and then deliver a high-impact video commercial about her products and services. I got her from nervous and unsure about her marketing message to confident and convincing in about 3 hours, right in her home!

Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?

A. All the time, and the greatest continuing education process I engage in is Toastmasters International. I am a Distinguished Toastmaster who has been a member for 15 years and I continue to attend weekly meetings to grow and develop as well as teach my fellow Toastmasters in various subjects like, How to Give Effective Speech Evaluations.

Q. What are the latest developments in your field? Are there any exciting things coming in the next few years or decade that will change your line of business?

A. What is exciting in my field is the use of webinars and online training to assist professionals in developing their public speaking skills in a comfortable and convenient environment. We will see much more of this as technology expands at the rate it has and allow people in all walks of life to communicate to a much larger world than they dreamed of.

Q. Describe your most recent project, what it involved, how much it cost, and how long it took.

A. I just worked with a local Tampa Bay area banking professional who needed to develop and practice her 30-second infomercial for networking purposes. I arranged for the free consultation and the hour of coaching/practice within days of meeting her, and she felt pleased and confident about the marketing message she now has to offer whenever she attenda Chamber of Commerce or other network meetings. For approximately an hour and a half of services rendered to her, her total investment was $150.

Q. If you have a complicated pricing system for your service, please give all the details here.

A. It is actually very clear, and depends on what my clients needs are. Basically I charge $100./Hr. for coaching/practicing presentations services, and I use a similar formula for assisting a client in creating a video commercial, depending on the total time we work together. If the distance I must travel to a job site is more than 20 miles, I charge a travel fee of $25. each way.

Q. If you were advising someone who wanted to get into your profession, what would you suggest?

A. First engage in learning how to train adults. It is not as easy as some professional make it look. It is not enough to know your subject matter, one must understand how to lead adults along a learning path at a pace that is comfortable to them and can be validated with feedback.

Q. Write your own question and answer it.

A. Why would anyone use my services? That's easy. If you want to develop the most important professional and personal skills you will use all of your life, then see me, and I'll show you how to change the way you communicate for the rest of your life. With the right coach, anything is possible!

Q. Write your own question and answer it.

A. Why would a potential client specifically use me as her coach? Because I have more than 30 years experience as a professional trainer, 15 years as a Toastmaster, and because if you go to my Linkedin website, you will see 179 recommendations made about my work from corporate America, municipal government professionals and small business owners from all over Tampa Bay!
