Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. I wire new homes , new buildings, motors , controls, pools spas, water heaters, a/c systems , floods lights, plugs, switches , fans mobile homes , new power poles , parking lot lighting, computers rooms solor panels systems, generators foe emergency power, panels breakers, warehouses, we repairs all the above .

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Ask to see his hillsborough county & state license, handymen are ripping people off and burning p there a/c systems and appliances ????

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. 42 yrs in bussiness , every 3 yrs ours codes change, all electricians are not up too new codes, Home howers insurances co. Like Allstate , State Farm, ?? they want permits & inspecctions my the electrical dept in your city or county, so does the electric company thats sells you power !!!

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. What schools did you go to, 2 yrs at leto High School Tampa Florida, 4 yrs local Union hall 915 went to school 4 nights a week for 4 yrs to top out as a journeyman electrician ?? 4 yrs of college at HCC tampa , 2 yrs Florida Gator engineer school.

Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?

A. Every electrical contractor like me , go to monthly meetings I am a member International Assc. Of Electrical Inspectors, and also The Electrical Council Of Florida, we meet 2 times a month, for new codes & informations .

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. 42 yrs we do it too codes , citys codes are different , county codes. Some citys have more codes to protect the public!!!

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. Meeting people , helping them out with there problems, sometimes people don't want too here the truth, or they got a cheeper price from a handyman with no education, or nonledge of the trade .

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. It my Area Tampa Florida, most all are for lightning dammage, or power surges, I can install new surge protection, too protect there home or bussiness . But not always if your home is over 30 yrs old G.E. requires new parts, upgrade your electrical system with larger meter larger panels all new breakers , most fires start in the kitchen or bathrooms.

Q. Do you have a favorite story from your work?

A. Some people call me before the fire trucks, others call me after the fire trucks, people will spend $ 40,000 on new kitchen cabinets, new floors, But the most important the electric in your walls and attick, you can't see so they don't care . thats were the fires start .

Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?

A. It is hard to impress people in 15 minutes, they call you for a free estimate, some will listen others will not, most just want it too work, weather it is done right or not very sad for your family, your houses is your largest libility to your future income , if you want too sell in the future.

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. 1966 I didn't want to go too college, 11 and 12 grade I went to a trade school loved the work. My job is too protect the public & there property from fire and Shock hazard ???

Q. Tell us about a recent job you did that you are particularly proud of.

A. Today we got a retired women retired nurse, she had no power for 3 weeks, her home owners insurance gave her the run around , when she called I said I wold take care of it , and I had her power back on, insurance company want our money, but when it comes time to pay they won't . Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?

A. 2 times a month for 42 yrs , you can't renew your license.

Q. What are the latest developments in your field? Are there any exciting things coming in the next few years or decade that will change your line of business?

A. new lighting called IED, I went too a lighting convection in Las Vegas all new light bulbs , will save the public money, all very much lower wattage bulbs.

A. Wired a new gas station $80,000 worth all explosion proof materials, class 1 division 1 locations flables gases and vapors.

Q. If you were advising someone who wanted to get into your profession, what would you suggest?

A. 4 yrs of college math, 4 yrs schooling get a job with a licened contractor not a handyman, work all day and study every night , or forget it???

Q. What is your greatest strength?

A. Larry Diaz Electric I do it right the first time, but people don't want too pay for all my 42 yrs of schooling and studying, they want it cheep, cost them for in the long run.

A. I am getting into green jobs, solor panels, in my area, right now they cost too much, I say drill baby drill , we have enough oil, natural gas, coal , for 200 yrs under the USA, why pay , and send out money too countrys that hate us over seas , star the new pipeline from Canada too the USA, The Alaska pipe line working for 30 yrs no problems , EPA, need to let american work8133749046
