- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelor Degree in Communication and a Bachelor Degree in Theatre Performance. I also trained in Music Production at St. Petersburg College for 2 years.
The Voice Within
Introduction: I teach music, singing, guitar, piano, songwriting, music theory, and creative expression through art and writing. I can help you access your inner artist and create through whichever medium you choose. I also teach Wellness/Holistic practices and how to make your life healthier such as Healthy Cooking and Baking lessons. I tutor and teach academic lessons (Elementary and Middle School) in the following subjects: Math, English, Science, History, reading/writing. I also offer language lessons (Fluent in Spanish-Venezuelan Native) in Spanish/English, and Beginner French.
I enjoy teaching because it gives me the opportunity to share my knowledge with others.

My voice lessons with Rose began in March 2012 and Im happy to say that she is still my preferred teacher 3 years later. I began as a very self-conscious student afraid to really sing out and let my voice be heard. From the very beginning, Rose made me feel comfortable. In addition to her humble attitude, she has a true gift of meeting the singer where they are. She takes a genuine interest in a student treating them as the individual and unique person that they are while offering plenty of encouragement and support.
The techniques Ive learned from her are tried and true practices that have noticeably improved my voice and boosted my confidence as a singer. Each lesson is unique depending on what I am working on each week, and our practice session is always full of skills and techniques for me to use and practice for the next lesson. Improved projection, stronger breath support, fostering my unique voice, and incorporating the importance of portraying the emotion of a song by feeling it in my body as I sing are just some of the ways her teachings have developed my skills as a singer. We properly warm up the voice at the beginning of every lesson. Rose listens closely during the warm up session and gives feedback where necessary, even if it means going back through the exercise again in order for the student to experience the difference.
Rose brings her love for music to every lesson by suggesting songs from various genres ranging from theatrical pieces, ballads, pop songs, duets, and more. One of my favorite things about our lesson is how she puts in the time to learn the song I choose on either the piano or her guitar so that I can also experience singing with a musical instrument and at the same time develop ear training.
If you are nervous about singing or have always wanted to sing but dont know think you could cut it, you have to schedule a lesson with Rose. She will meet you where you are and at the same time challenge and shape you with patience, humor, and expertise. Every lesson is worth it.
