Question and answer

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. 1) Make sure they walk the walk. They should look and act the part.

2) They should have a plan.

3) If the first thing you do with a trainer is walking lunges, run out the door.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. I hold my clients to high standards, and they get the results. I know how to get from point A to point B.

A good personal trainer should have functional understanding of movements. Muscle actions, origins, insertions -- that sort of thing.

Your strength coach should also move well. If your trainer is always injured -- bad sign. If your trainer moves like Frankenstein, you wills too.

Also, you should have options to work short term or long term with your trainer, and you shouldn't be pressured into a deal. Of course short term arrangements are going to cost more, but you should not be pressured into a deal.

Also, you should have all the bases covered: strength, endurance, mobility, etc.

Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?

A. I read every single day!
