Question and answer
Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A. Ask questions, if provider feels the need to withhold some "Secret" to the business, look for another provider who provides unfetterated information about the repair. Total honesty should be easy for the provider, and a good estimate based on time for the particular issue should not have to be pryed from the provider.
Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?
A. There should be no secrets. A customer who is hiring a trade should be able to gloam as much information from the provider as they wish during a job since they are paying for that time.
Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?
A. May I watch you work? Can I ask questions about what you are doing as you work? Will you instruct me afterwards as to what I can do to maintain my computer to avoid this issue in the future?
Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?
A. If this is to be an in-home repair, can the provider provide references from previous customers since a complete stranger is coming into your home. Also, in deciding on a pickup vs in-home, do you have the time necessary for the tech to repair your machine in-home. Repairs can be anywhere from 1 hour to 7 hours dependant upon the issues.
