Introduction: Do you need lawn care services? You need to try us out! We offer lawn care, starting at 25 dollars. Our rates: * Small lawns – $20.00 to $25.00 per cut * Medium lawns – $30.00 to $40.00 per cut * Large lawns – $45.00 and up per cut Lawn care services include mowing, trimming, edging and clean up. We also trim hedges, palms and shrubs, as well as do yard clean ups, weeding, and more! * Mowing In order to reduce stress from mowing, we always use sharpened mower blades, and preferably mowing often enough so that no more than 1/3 of the leaf blade is cut away in a single mowing. We also alternate the lawn mowing pattern on each lawn. This reduces soil compaction and wear and tear from the wheels on the mower. Areas such as tree rings are prone to show a wear pattern because it is tough to change the direction of the cut. Furthermore, we always return clipping back to your lawn by mulching. Clippings help feed the lawn by returning its nutrients back to it. This practice is also environmentally friendly, while creating the best looking lawns. Although if mulching isn’t preferred by the client, we can collect it for you by bagging. * Hedges While trimming your hedges, we always aim for a slightly tapered shape, always narrower at the top. This allows for the sunlight to hit them more evenly. However, if the shape is reversed, wider at the top, the base of the hedge will be shaded and eventually begin to lose its leaves due to lack of sunlight. * Tree pruning, clean up, and shape up One of the biggest pruning mistakes is cutting off branches in the wrong place. Amateurs tend to leave too much of a stub when removing branches. Once the stub dies off, it creates an entry point for disease pathogens and destructive insects. Unlike human beings, trees don’t regenerate tissue. While our skin replaces itself, trees grow new tissue around wounds and compartmentalizes them. Once a tree compartmentalizes an old wound, it has a much better chance of survival. Efforts should also be made not to wound tree trunks with lawnmowers, tractors and other machines. Trunk wounds create opportunities for destructive fungi. A natural defense system is built into trees, in the swollen area at the base of branches, known as the “collar,” right where the trunk intersects the branch. Flush cuts are important to make, provided you don’t remove the collar. Proper pruning cuts should be made just beyond the collar, without leaving a stub, but still leaving the swollen area. * Weeding flower beds by hand Flower bed weeds are always done by hand, to ensure your plants, flowers, bushes, vines, etc. are not damaged in the process. We also take great care to make sure all weeds are pulled from the roots, so they do not heal and begin to grow again. * Trimming and edging No matter what type of lawnmower you use, it will inevitably miss a few stray blades of grass in hard-to-reach areas. Trimming (that is, cutting stray high grasses) and edging (grooming the lawn’s edges by cutting along them vertically) give the lawn a finished look. Although many edge and trim after mowing, many lawn care professionals actually perform these tasks before mowing a lawn. By doing this, the lawn clippings generated by edging and trimming are picked up by the mower as it collects the clippings, or mulches them into the lawn. * Yard clean up – hurricanes, overgrown lawns, and garbage and debris removal * Clean up – fallen leaves, branches, debris, and also clean any fences with overgrown weeds, vines, etc. We also take the time to create beds around trees, plants and flowers (can even put mulch).
