FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I attend a lot of continuing education seminars and online courses. As a proud member of ABC Association of Bridal Consultants, there are seminars almost monthly if not weekly providing consultants the latest and most informative tools for training. I also believe that reading magazines and reading what a bride/groom want for their wedding day is also another way to keep current on what is trending. Another form of education is simply understanding vendors and their terminology. I do not believe I have to be a photographer to understand the difference between traditonal and photojournalistic photos. I believe it is just as important for a Bridal Consultant to be able to speak the language of all the vendors they interact with on a regular basis. It not only shows professionalism, but respect for the field of Wedding Planning.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I decided to get into my line of work after planning my own Destination Wedding. I had only 6 months and successfully, I brought it all together. It was so much fun, the planning, the learning, and being able to share ideas with my husband and family. I did not want the planning to end, now my love for planning will live on in other weddings!
