Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. During the very first lesson, I like to talk about the "secrets of dog training". The answer is that there are no secrets, simply the appropriate display of comon sense.

Nothing that we teach our clients are things that are earth shattering. We simply teach them to think and act like their canine best friend. Many of our clients have had several dogs during their lives, and as we explain what is going on to cause the issues, they say "Oh, that's right! I knew that! I just couldn't put all the pieces together!"

As Bark Buster Dog Behavioral Therapists and Master Trainers, we provide you with the reminder of what you already know, instruct you with the perspective of the canine behavior, and guide you in the ability of having a great dog.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. Robin and I never like to talk ill about the other dog trainers in our area.

What I can say is that as Bark Buster Behavioral Therapists and Master Trainers, we have a great deal of local experience, professional services, and world wide support that we offer each and every client. We have currently trained over 900 dogs in South Florida and the company has trained over 500,000 dogs world wide. We are part of the world's largest home dog training company and have the instant support of the other Bark Busters (over 400) across the United States and nine other countries.

Before we were allowed to become Bark Busters, we needed to successfully attend a three week, "24/7" training program with constant class room instruction and hands-on exercises. Our knowledge was measured by successfully passing an eight hour written test and full day hands-on test. We are required to successfully pass on-going instruction/certification on an annual basis. As I mentioned earlier, we have currently trained over 900 dogs (and their human owners) in South Florida.

All of this makes us feel pretty good about our techniques and very successful results.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. Robin and I have been dog lovers all our lives and know the love and happiness that a well behaved dog can bring a family. We are normally asked to enter a client's home when they are ready to ship their dog off to the shelter because they can no longer put up with the behavior. Although they may love their dog, they can't put up with the disruption caused by the dog's behavior.

Normally, in a matter of two or three hours, our clients have a new dog who listens, behaves, and respects the rest of the members in the family. We do this in a natural and non-physical way that the dog understands and our clients can easily perform.

What do we like best about our jobs? When the client says "Wow" and the dog is saved.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. On the first phone call we have with our clients, the questions they mostly ask are "Can my dog be potty trained, I have tried everything and it just doesn't work", "My dog jumps on everybody and none of my friends come to the house any more", "I am afraid that my dog might bight somebody", "The barking is driving me crazy", can you help me?

Our answer always is "yes" because part of Bark Buster's motto is "any dog, any problem". We are trained to diagnose the root causes of the problems and then provide simple, natural, and non-physical solutions. As long as our client is willing to work with us and perform the actions we suggest, our level of success is amazing.

Q. Do you have a favorite story from your work?

A. One of our training packages provides a lifetime of training and training support for our client's dog.

One of my favorite stories involves a client that we began working with over four years ago. She was single and just got her first dog. The dog was going nuts and she engaged our services to help with that. We got it all under control and the dog was great.

We didn't hear from her for a while until, one day, we got a call saying that the dog was nuts again. Oh by the way, she mentioned that she just got married. We went back down and helped her solve the issues with her dog and the new make-up of her family environment. After a few visits, we didn/t hear from her again.

About six months ago, we got a call and said the dog was going nuts, and, by the way, she just gave birth to her first child. Off we were again. We helped her and her dog through the issues and haven't heard from her for the last three months.

The moral of the story is that, as Bark Busters, we have the ability to provide you with the opportunity to have a great dog, no matter what and when. I love telling this story because it shows exactly what we really want to accomplish for every dog and dog owner in South Florida!
