Question and answer

Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. My most common type of job is head shots. I live in an area where entertainers are constantly updating their personal head shots for auditions, so the opportunity for their business is pretty substantial. I enjoy it because that type of photo shoot is meant to show who they truly are and what they truly look like. It's an accurate depiction of everything about them.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. Inside secrets? If you love photography, the secret to great portraits is experience, passion, creativity, and a good lens! If those things come together, amazing photos will be the result. For the most part, there aren't many rules to taking photos, but there are certainly tricks that one learns throughout a career that produce quality work.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. My work is sharp, unique, and quality photography. I will always provide professional work that expresses the emotion and captures the life of the subject, which creates memories that will last a lifetime.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. I enjoy being able to capture a moment in time for people. Everyone's expressions and emotions are different. Snapping a photograph of an instant is my way of providing a memory of that.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. Customers ask me how I get my subjects to look so "alive." I usually answer by saying that photography isn't about making them look alive, it's about grabbing a shot that shows how alive they were in the first place.
