Question and answer
Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A. Moving is stressful. Having to sell is also stressful. Find someone that is upbeat and enthusiastic in wanting the home to sell quick. This energy goes a long way toward becoming reality. Also, check out portfolios to verify the work really belongs to the stager you are considering to hire. Don't forget to check out references. A quality home stager should have multiple people in many fields that can speak to their quality work. Also, take the time to see if your home stager is rated by the Better Business Bureau, RESA (The Real Estate Staging Assoc.) and is licensed and insured.
Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?
A. Many home stagers share their designation. A designation is an indication of the training they took to become and home stager. If I were a customer I would want to be aware that there is not a government licensed program for home staging and there are no education requirement. You are best serviced by interviewing, reviewing a prortfolio and talking with industry professsionals such as realtors, and past clients of the stager you are considering. That is all that really matters. The stagers that satisfy these items for you are also the ones that are dedicated to haviing your home sell quickly
Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?
A. Are you licensed? Do you belong to the Better Business Bur? Are you ranked by the Better Business Bureas. Do you belong to the real estate staging Assoc. (RESA) Are you insured? Do you have a network of professionals you can refer to me for repairs and listing my home for sale? What is the average home price of the homes you stage. What is your inventory availbility and style? How long does it take to stage a home? Are your prices competitive? How long do the homes you stage stay on the market?
