Question and answer

Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. Helping people with curb appeal who are trying to market their home in today's distressed economy and picking plants and shrubs that will complement their home and removing those that should have never been there such as Magnolias and Holly's up against the house.
Always ask for references and check out the work don't just take their word for it.

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Ask questions and do not lock yourself in a contract that you might be unhappy with. The provider should be concerned about what makes you happy and not what makes him happy. Be knowledgeable and be satisfied with your service. A good provider always pays attention to detail. I do not recommend the cookie cutter providers that have a different crew each week and it's just a job to them. You have to have a passion for the work you do to be good at it.
Keep in mind the old saying: When you pay peanuts you get monkeys.
Avoid third party references who are just trying to pick you a provider out of greed for themselves. You have to have a passion, knowledge and talent to do this work.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. If i were a customer looking for a professional caretaker i would be looking for some one who could envision and had a creativity eye of planing a good layout design that just kept looking better each year. I would also want someone who had the experience and knowledge of natural pesticides and a eye for color for my landscape thru the four seasons, to create a peaceful and enjoyable environment. It is a must for a good provider to be creative and have a passion of creativity to share.

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. A customer seeking lawn maintenance should make sure the provider takes pride in their work and it not just a job they should also has a knowledge of all plants in Georgia.
The customer should be cautious in signing a contract with a provider and the customer should always be 100% satisfied with all work performed. The providers best references is always the customer.
The customer should always ask for references and make sure their provider is licensed before hiring.

Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?

A. I am very flexible and will work with a customer when they run into hard times but if they can not afford the service do not hire a provider. I have a $35 late fee when payment is not received on the first of the month, this fee continues each month until payment is received, so i recommend the customer set up payment thru bill pay with their bank. After three months of being late a workman's lien is placed on the property and the late fees will continue to accrue.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. I take a great deal of pride in my work and i want the customer to be 100% satisfied with the work performed. When on the job i go out of the way to make sure i have not missed anything and have a keen eye for detail and color.
When the job is completed i always call or check with the customer to make sure they are satisfied with the work performed. If any extra work is needed i usually do not charge. Anyone can provide service but not quality service.
If you are extremely picky you will be very happy with my service.
I only take on a limited amount of customers who expect outstanding work.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. Lawn maintenance and landscaping is like therapy, it is not easy work but rewarding to see the before and after of your work performed. To be successful you must be creative and have a eye for detail and color and know the element of design to enhance and improve the project in which you are involved. It is a must to have good work ethics and take pride in the work you preform with a sharp eye for detail.

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. I have always had a passion for gardening and was born and raised on a farm.
I was always surprised how some people did not have the talent to envision on how great their property could look with a little work, imagination and color.
I always loved the parks, the gardens and well maintained manicured properties and estates in my hometown area, and i have always found working along nature to be relaxing and uplifting while being your own boss.

Q. What are you currently working on improving?

A. My budget while trying to give my customers the same outstanding service in this economy without raising my prices.
