I contacted this company before purchasing a Groupon for their moving services. Spoke to Thomas or Eric and advised of my move and my location, from Atlanta, GA to Suwanee, GA (27.8 mile distance) and just wanted to get some general information before making the $419 purchase. Everything was fine...so they said. So I purchase the Groupon and call and First Choice Movers, I don't get an answer so I leave a message...I am suppose to receive a call back in 24 hours which I do not. So I call back 2 business days later because I need to schedule the move, someone answers the phone "hello", ummm is this First Choice Movers? Most real companies identify themselves upon answering the phone, but maybe that is asking too much. So I speak to him and he says the date is not available and they can do it at 6pm the day before, so 6pm-midnight they could do the move. Ok...and then he says it will be an extra fee because it is a long distance move, now anyone living in Atlanta knows that from Atlanta to Suwanee is not a long distance move, 27.8 miles has never been considered long distance. So I call the "office" and a lady answers the phone "hello", ummm is this first choice movers, she answers yes, gets my information and the distance I am going and says she will call me back. She calls me back and says it is an extra $75, I say okay I will see, and then I went to ask about the dates available and she didn't know...ok, you don't know the available dates for moves but you work in the office, got it. So then my fiancee calls because by now this company sounds like a sham, and the guy tells him that the date is available...hmmm magic. Then he said that he will have the manager give him a call back about the move. Of course we never receive a call back. I call the next morning, no answer during the normal business hours. I call back a few hours later and I am sent to voicemail, phone rung twice and then the voicemail came on. So this time I get a call back and the guy says oh we don't go to Suwanee, and I ask, did you change your policy yesterday and he said yes they changed it on the fly yesterday and they can't do the move. Oh ok, so that didn't make any sense. This has been my experience with them, VERY UNPROFESSIONAL and UNPREDICTABLE. I would not waste my money on a place like this, if they act like this before the move, I can only imagine how they will act on someone's actual moving day. I am pretty sure the other "good" reviews they have on this site are Fake because there is no way that someone would be satisfied with a place with zero customer service and who doesn't return phone calls to customers who have already paid for their services and then just changes their rules after someone has made the purchase. It is sad but I will make sure that everyone I am in contact with knows not to ever do business with such a scam of a company.

I purchased a Groupon with First Choice Movers, but there was issues with the Groupon, but they still honored the price. Initially things were ok, but as the move went on things turned bad. The groupon was for 4 hours of moving, but I ended up needing to add two extra hours (2pm - 8pm). The loading and unloading seemed to take forever and I have moved previously but it never took this long. The movers complained because the home we were moving to had three levels. Almost everything was moved by about 7:20 pm, but we were told we needed to pay for the full last hour. Since there were a few things that still needed to be put in the correct place, we asked them to continue moving the last few items. They complained and got into an argument with my husband. My husband said forget it and asked them to leave. Then they sat outside of our home until about 8pm, I guess to get their full hour of pay. Many items had scratches that we didn't notice until after the move. I would not recommend this company. Sometimes you get what you pay for and this is one of those times. :(

FIRST CHOICE MOVERS HIRE EMPLOYEES WHO STEAL FROM YOU DURING THE MOVE! This was the worst moving experience I have ever had with a moving company. I saw a deal on Groupon and called the company first to see if they could move me on the date needed. ERIC told me that they would honor the Groupon price if I went directly through them instead of Groupon. BIG MISTAKE! Thinking that they were a reputable company because I found them on Groupon, I agreed. One week before the move, I called/left messages several times to confirm that we were still scheduled for the agreed upon date. When I FINALLY got in touch with them, they said I needed to pay an additional $40 fuel charge (not a part of the original agreement). The only reason I agreed to pay it was because I did not have enough time to find another company. The movers did arrive on time, but with a long contract that included the additional charge. After I signed, they started moving. About an hour into the move, they began to move a big leather sofa. I told them to take the hinges off the door so they could get it through the door frame. They were determined not to do it and ended up scratching both arms of the sofa and busting a hole in the ceiling (which I did not find out until after I want back to the house to clean up). I told them that I was not happy and KAREEM told me that because I signed the contract, they were not responsible. Then, they could not figure out how to turn off the water in my house to disconnect the refrigerator. They ended up breaking the copper water line on the refrigerator itself and almost flooded the house. Again, KAREEM said that they were not responsible because I signed the contract. There's more… as I was trying to stop the water from rushing into my house, they quietly jumped in the truck and sat there eating snacks. I didn't even know they were finished because I was still trying to stop the water from flooding my house... yes, they left me there with the mess. I asked what they were doing, and they said, "we are waiting on you"... Huh? KAREEM jumped out of the truck and then said that he would not move my stuff until I paid him $500 in cash right then. That was $50 more than the total that was on the contract that I signed earlier. I SHOULD HAVE CALLED THE POLICE RIGHT THEN, but instead I called ERIC and he told me that he would tell KAREEM not to charge me. So we get to the new house and KAREEM apologized for the $50 "MISTAKE". Everything seemed to be OK until one of the guys got sick and threw up in the bushes. They had not eaten or had any water with them so he got overheated. I should have provided water, but we were moving and my house was in shambles. I would have expected that they would have at least had water bottles in the truck with them considering that moving in hot weather is what they do for a living. In the new house, the damage continued.... They dented the walls in the foyer and scraped off the paint on the stairwell. I could go on, but I'll stop there. At one point, KAREEM told me that most customers feed them fried chicken, but all they got from us was "jumped on". I was insulted and couldn't believe that he would say such a thing, especially after all they damage they caused at BOTH houses. Oh, did I mention that they STOLE my son's wireless speakers? I did get the speakers back after one of the guys brought them back and said “they must have been forgotten on the truck”…. Of course he ran when the police showed up. Eric did give me $100 for the inconvenience, but it does not even come close to covering the other damage they did. I hesitated to post this review, but decided to do it since they have not offered to pay me for the other damages that I know about. I haven't gone through the entire house yet to see what else they stole.... PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF SOME STRESS, MONEY, AND HEARTACHE AND DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!

It's sad that you would post such malicious untruths. If you have any issue, please contact us directly at 404-596-3535. This story is full of contradictions that's transparent to anyone with reading skills. If all this occurred during the summer WHY wait til winter is near it's end? Once more one of the HUNDREDS of moves we do monthly is attempting to slander our company.
