- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I assess each new pianist student at their current level and create a custom program for each individual. Technical adjustments will be made each week as the student progresses, thereby advancing them at a more rapid pace.

Keith Phillips, BBA, MTNA, ABRSM, is an award winning classically trained pianist taught by concert pianists Ernestine Smith, Marilyn Neely (Van Cliburn cash winner), Gellert Modos, and Dr. John Roberts (Van Cliburn). He trained under music scholarship with Dr. Roberts in piano performance at Furman University. He has studied composition with Leo Smit under music scholarship (Brevard Music Center), who was taught by Dmitri Kabalevsky, and who has worked with Igor Stravinsky, Aaron Copland, and Leonard Bernstein. He is the author of, “Practical Piano Techniques”, a guide book for teachers and students. Keith has created 26 solo piano and piano orchestration CDs that he sells across the continental U.S. He has currently sold over 40,000 of his CDs. Keith is fluent both in beginner and advanced classical repertoire instruction, ABRSM and MTNA competition preparation, music theory, sight reading instruction, blues and other improvisation styles, composition, and current trends using computer recording software. With his advanced methods and sufficient practice students will develop two to three times faster than with basic instruction.
