FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
While most dread having to write or update their resume, I've always enjoyed it. Moreover, it's no secret that I love a good font. In college my sorority sisters would tease me over this. But, font choice matters! It's this sense of how design can either bring words to life or deflate them, coupled with strong writing skills, that made me the easy go-to for resume advice. I was constantly being approached by friends, sorority sisters and family members who needed help with their resumes. When I started my own career, colleagues also began to ask me for resume help. Over time I realized it was unique that I enjoyed writing resumes and was something I could make profitable. There is nothing quite like finding THE perfect font for someone, whether it's for your second cousin or a contemporary at work.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
The most common service I provide is a Resume Makeover. This means the client has something to work with but is in need of a total overhaul. I also write cover letters if a client has a specific position to which they are applying. The two other most frequently requested services are: Total Resume Construction (when the client doesn't yet have a resume and we start from scratch) and a mini service called a Resume Polish (which focuses on just one component of the resume, either design or verbiage).
