Question and answer

Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. I sing locally here in Atlanta in various clubs and jazz festivals. I've toured with R&B legend Roberta Flack, been on television, opened for various artist such as Ann Nesby (Sounds of Blackness), The SOS band, Roberta Flack, Jeane Carn, and many more. I've given vocal lessons to artist of Dallas Austin (producer behind TLC, Usher, and more), Icon (convict records, Tpain)

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. The best advise I can give a customer looking to hire a vocal coach, does or has the coach you are looking to hire have experience in performance? Can they sing?

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. I not only teach, but I am a performer as well. I've been teaching for over 15 years, and I'm very good at what I do.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. This is not a job for me, it's my career. And what I like most, is showing my students how to use their gift properly.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. The question I get most commonly is "how do I add vocal range?" and my answer "you must learn how to use your diaphragm properly, and use your talk tone while singing...."

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. I love what I do. I started teaching and directing choirs and praise and worship groups in church. As I began touring with various singers, I would be the one they trusted to teach the parts to the background singers. So as times got slow, I decided to continue doing what I did best, and that's music. Teaching is also a way of keeping my vocals ready for my performances as well.

Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?

A. one of the techniques I use (and I'm constantly upgrading and adding more) is the Seth Riggs (vocal trainer to the stars) series. I've seen and experienced and extreme difference is vocal abilities with His work.
