Custom photography is a unique experience - an investment in heirloom quality memories. I work with my clients to help realize the vision they have for the shoot--and to help shape it if that is what they need, from what to wear to how to arrange their finished artwork on the wall.

The sitting fee is $125. This covers the time and talent of the photographer. Within two weeks, I will set up a private proofing gallery from which you can order prints, canvases, float wraps, and more. If you need a custom package or a custom album, I will work with you to create one in the exact vision you need.

Your memories are special, your photographs of the day should be as well.

Question and answer

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. It's probably not much of a secret, but the best photographers are the ones who keep learning, who are open to new ideas and new technologies. The photographers who stand by their work with a guarantee of happiness. The best photographers know that the client is not paying for a file, they are paying for the photographer's expertise. Which means they manage the product line--the prints, etc, and make sure everything is perfect before those images hit your walls.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. Because I have worked very hard to become a strong technical photographer as well as an artistic one. I have been crafting and honing my skills and my artistic eye for years, and it clearly shows in the end results.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. I love creating something beautiful and timeless. I enjoy the squeal of delight I hear on the other end of the phone when I call to say "your previews are up!" I love walking into a client's house for a newborn shoot and seeing mom's maternity photos hanging on the wall. I love that I am enriching the lives of my clients by making something beautiful out of the ordinary moments of their lives.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. Most people want to know how I got started taking photos--the truth is, I began taking photos with my daddy's old Minolta SLR back when I was in college. I had a darkroom in my home when I first got married, and I fell in love with the process of shooting film and waiting for it to develop. When I went all-digital in 2007, I fell in love all over again, but went back to the basics of photography to re-develop my skills with all the new technology available to me.
