- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
My company usually requires a contract and a 50% deposit from the client interested in booking a magician through our company. Our primary magician is William Davenport, however, we also book out other independent contractor magicians as well for various events.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
William Davenport who is the manager and primary magician for Davenport Magical Entertainment, L.L.C. earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Georgia College and State University in Milledgeville, Georgia. He also served in the Georgia Army National Guard and served two overseas tours, one in Bosnia Herzegovina with SFOR in 2001 and another tour in Afghanistan with ISAF in 2009-2010. William Davenport's military experience and completion of his college education gave him the leadership skills, wisdom and focus necessary to run his own company. This combination of experience also helped give him the ability pursue his goals doing what he loves which is performing the art of magic and being a businessman. William Davenport has been an amateur magician since his high school years in the early 1990s and started working as a professional magician after his honorable discharge from the Georgia Army National Guard in 2010.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
William Davenport was shown his first magic trick when he was in high school by a friend who had a great talent for performing magic. Ever since he was shown a magic trick by somebody who did the art very well, he has been hooked on performing magic and hasn't stopped ever since.
