Question and answer
Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.
A. I work with many women who are trying to become pregnant and have healthy babies. I also work with all types of pain and chronic disease. My goal is to provide the physical and emotional support you need in order for your body and heart to heal naturally.
Q. Describe three recent jobs you've completed.
A. One patient got pregnant using acupuncture for 2 months and had a great first trimester.. Another patient came in complaining of acute back pain and after 2 treatments is better. A third patient came in for help quitting smoking and hasn't had a cigarette now in 4 weeks!
Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A. Try to find someone who specializes in the type of issue you're having. Also, know that Chinese medicine is not a "quick fix." Because it heals the origin and true cause of disease, it takes longer than a pill or painkiller might.
Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?
A. The secret to healing is love.
Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?
A. Make sure your practitioner is licensed to practice acupuncture in the state of Georgia and that he or she has experience in treating your condition. Also confirm that your practitioner has graduated from an accredited acupuncture program and has spent at least 3,000 hours studying acupuncture and Chinese medicine.
Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?
A. It's important to know that acupuncture, Chinese herbs, nutritional supplements and diet changes take time to reach maximum effectiveness. It took your body years to become what it is today and it may take time for it to heal, as well. Come in with an open mind and a willingness to give yourself what you truly need over the long haul and I know you won't be disappointed.
Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?
A. I've studied diligently and know my field inside and out, and I will do whatever it takes within my capacity to help you heal. I will come in on weekends, off hours, early in the morning or late at night. You can call me if you need support or email me at any time. I will give you everything I have in my heart, my body and my mind with love and compassion and acceptance. I will go the extra 100 miles for you because I care so much for my patients and I am so grateful for the life I've been given in serving you.
Q. What do you like most about your job?
A. I love helping people to heal and getting to know them. I love the moment when a person realizes a behavior or pattern that has been holding them back. I am incredibly grateful to have a profession where it's vital for me to be a vessel for unconditional love, unconditional mercy and unconditional acceptance. It is truly an honor to help people in this way.
Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A. The most common question is: Do the needles hurt. The honest answer is: sometimes. More frequently you'll feel a sensation of opening and movement. Often you'll feel nothing at all. Occasionally you'll feel a sensation akin to a pinch; but the sensation is gone within seconds. If the point hurts it's because the energy within the point was very, very constricted and, similar to a cramp, had trouble relaxing and moving.
Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?
A. When I was 24, a relative almost died in a car accident. It was a huge wake up call for me. I realized that life is short and that I didn't want to spend mine sitting in front of a computer screen. Helping the world became very important, and choosing a profession that went to the core of what being human is about became critical.
Q. Tell us about a recent job you did that you are particularly proud of.
A. Recently I had a patient who had been trying to become pregnant for more than 5 years. Her and her husband had done many artificial inseminations and she tracked her ovulation schedule religiously. After five months of treatment she became pregnant! Integral to her success was her willingness to follow the diet and supplement recommendations given to her. Woohoo!
Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?
A. I love to learn and am constantly studying with the top people in my field. Right now I'm studying flower essences and am using them during acupuncture sessions. Flower essences are a wonderful way to address the emotions and spirit while at the same time, healing the physical aspects of illness or pain. They are very subtle and beautiful.
Q. If you have a complicated pricing system for your service, please give all the details here.
A. I offer individual, 1hour sessions for $80 each (the first session is 90 minutes and costs $120). I also offer group acupuncture sessions which last 45 minutes and cost $25. During group sessions I don't treat points on the back or the torso that would require you to undress, and there it isn't the most effective modality for everyone, but for many types of pain and illness they work really well. I believe that acupuncture should be available to everyone and I try to make it as affordable as possible.
Q. If you were advising someone who wanted to get into your profession, what would you suggest?
A. I would recommend that you go to a program that is fully accredited nationally and preferably certified by the CA state board. There are programs that require you to be local, but there are others that can be done long distance for the first year. Visit different schools to get a flavor of the methodology they teach and choose the one that seems most compatible with your learning style and personality.
