Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A. I guess the best advice I can give is to have FUN! Choosing a wedding photographer is not supposed to be difficult, boring and hard. You and your future partner should enjoy this process of finding your photographer and all of your other wedding vendors. Before you know it, your wedding will be here and it will all be over. So why not enjoy every step of the planning process? Also, it wouldn't hurt to make all of your appointments, be on time, attentive and take great notes. Ask lots of questions, see lots of their work, ask about any ongoing specials and then go home and compare/contrast.
Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?
A. Remember that cheaper doesn't always mean better, It's not always about the money. Look at the work, the background, the personality of the photographer and see if you "click." If you do, that's all that matters. Some people think that if you find a wedding photographer for $200 then you're really lucky, but that's not the case. How long has the photographer been in business? How many weddings have they shot? Do they work alone or with another photographer? What kind of equipment do they use and do they bring back-up equipment? Professional photographers charge because they are "professionals!" They charge because they know what they are doing, you're not just paying for their time on the wedding day. You're paying for all of their time and expertise before and all of their hard photo editing time later after the wedding.
Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?
A. It's not just about price. Ask about the Photographer and don't be afraid to ask a few personal questions. Are they married? How long have they been in business and what do they love the most about what they do? What is their favorite wedding memory and why? It's not always about technicality, but if you like what the photographer says and if you have a lot in common, that would definitely be helpful. If you think that your photographer understands you and really "gets" you, then you found the perfect match. BOOK them before it's too late, you don't want to regret it later on, so don't be afraid.
Q. What do you like most about your job?
A. I absolutely and positively LOVE photos. I just love everything about them. Thinking about the photoshoot, preparing for it, taking the photos, viewing them and editing them :)
Q. What is your greatest strength?
A. People always tell me that I have incredible patience. It's something I always took for granted, but I'm starting to appreciate it. After all, patience is a virtue!
