Question and answer

Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. Most concrete projects- driveways and patios, foundations, retaining walls, demolition and removal of old broken concrete as well as other materials, grading and prep for new concrete and/or ground leveling, small tree removal, drainage issues, gravel placement, etc. We do mostly residential but also commercial projects

Q. Describe three recent jobs you've completed.

A. Rex, Ga.- Old patio and broken step were removed and new larger patio and step placed. Gravel was brought in to raise the new concrete, and flexible forms used to create a rounded edge, as well as two round steps. This is called radius work. Jackson, Ga.- Broken concrete was removed and existing driveway was extended on two ends. This job was on a steep grade, and plastic was used to extend drying time.
Hampton, Ga.- Another driveway extension, to be used for extra parking, formed and placed using 3000 psi mix. A small amount of soil was removed and area graded to make level for new concrete.

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Look for experienced professionals to avoid problems. Pictures of the contractor doing work, not just finished jobs prove experience, as well as having a list they can provide you with many references. Anyone can say they have experience, look for the proof.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. Different times of the year, temperature, affect concrete drying. During colder weather, chemicals must be added to help concrete dry, and in warm or hot weather, plastic is often used to slow drying and make concrete stronger. Depending on the use of concrete, materials are often added to strengthen: These are all things an experienced, reputable concrete contractor knows.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. Our work is done to the same expectations we would have of projects done on our own properties- life expectency of the concrete, proper drainage issues addressed, and a beautiful finish.
