We are one call source of excellent skills in carpentry, painting, sheet rock repair, ceramic, roofing, and siding. We also do small plumbing and electric service.

We are not a sub-contracting referral agent. You talk directly to the owner of a small company that has always satisfied customers since 1991.

We have preferred to remain small, affordable, and responsive to our clientele, even though we construct additions that sometimes exceed $150,000. The customer has checked our abilities and performance record, compared our proposal to competition, and been thoroughly happy with our service.

Question and answer

Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. Room additions, basement finishing, kitchen or bath remodels,
roofing , siding, garage / storage outbuildings . Total pressure wash and paint exterior including carpentry repairs. We perform handyman service ( hang a door, window replacement, water heater changes, faucet / appliance replacement, toilets, guttercleaning/toppers, etc.) when reasonable distance, job load, and scale of work allow.

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Always check references,, never hire a newcomer less than 2 years in existence. What good is a 1 year warranty if the company hasn't existed that long. We have actually done warranty coverage even 4 years after completion! Never take the lowest bid( unless its MINE!) The middle bid is the one who has thoughtfully estimated, stands behind the work , and desires to stay in business. Always get a written proposal for work over $1000.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. Our service is to follow the design ideas of the customer. We suggest and add structural and technical help, but the customer decides the budget and the ultimate result when we do an addition, bath / kitchen remodel, basement finish, exterior renovation, deck or screen porch. Our handyman service still brings the broad range of skills and knowledge to accomplish a multitude of items - no plumber or electrician will patch sheetrock, paint , or repair ceramic tile after their work is done . Call us first and get a complete repair at as reasonable rate.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. I love the variety of skills, knowledge, and the creative expression of our construction. The personal satisfaction of creating new living space ,solving problems , stopping a roof leak that others could not correct, changing a lifestyle by adding a garage or deck, making a valued addition to someone's property.

Q. Do you have a favorite story from your work?

A. A person called to "finish up" a basement that a company had started. Looking down the steps the ceramic tile appeared o.k. --stepped on it and all the tile was loose . Sheetrock was up, ceiling installed and primed. One wall intersected at the middle of a window, the heat/ ac unit was in a room-- no ductwork installed, no gas service run to it . Every door unit was crooked& would not latch. The kitchen cabinets were installed but did not leave enough space for a stove , and the gas pipe came out ofthe wall at eye level , not down where it was needed. The bath was equally screwed up, not enough space to install toilet, hot & cold lines all reversed, the fiberglass tub had been damaged but installed any way. After I explained everything wrong, I was told he had no money left to finish it and I felt so sorry for the man knowing that a low ball pricer had done this job with little intention of doing things right.

Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?

A. This is a business that has sufferered a bad reputation from marginally skilled participants, uneven regulation, and a new home "bubble" where remodel and repair costs could not be justified. A large number of these have ceased to exist , but the customer must beware -- check previous customers , study the items you need done, make selections of lighting ,cabinetry, floor covering , and all decorative items -- the things you will see after completion.
