Question and answer

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Always check all references, and negotiate price quotes before hiring. Give the small guy a chance, there's a good chance he/she will be your best asset. Show up unexpectedly to check the work, and if something is not done well, show him/her how you want it done. Look, no one is perfect, but good communication with your employees is the key to success.

Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?

A. What kind of equipemnt is used for optimal performance.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. We've been in the office cleaning business for about 3 years now, and have 7 associates. We have never been late, missed a day of work or gotten any complaints! We pay attention to details; we clean as if it was our own home.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. We do everything by the book. Always customers first.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. "How do you organize your workers?" I tell them, that I each employee has his/her responsibility; and that's why we maximize our time. We work as a team, not as individuals.

Q. Do you have a favorite story from your work?

A. There is an employee that is always screaming "I'm hungry, pleeeease, someone feed me something different than a cleaning sponge!!!"

Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?

A. That I'm reliable and honest. I deliver what I promise.

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. I didn't have a lot of money to invest, but needed a job. The cleaning industry is profitable and does not require a large investment of money and/or time. Offices have to be cleaned, regardless of the economic crisis!

Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?

A. There's a lot to read about cleaning products and the appropriate cleaning agents that will do the job, but not harm your employees or the environment.

Q. Describe your most recent project, what it involved, how much it cost, and how long it took.

A. Getting my own customers, and getting my office organized. It took me a while to design the type of business cards that would attract more customers. It didn't cost much. Getting office equiment and organizing it has not been easy; I haven't given up; I'm working on it!

Q. If you have a complicated pricing system for your service, please give all the details here.

A. The cleaning business is a flat fee operation.

Q. If you were advising someone who wanted to get into your profession, what would you suggest?

A. I would suggest to follow someone who's already in the business for a little while, and learn what it's all about before you make any commitments. You may find that you really don't like doing it as much as I do!

Q. Write your own question and answer it.

A. How do I get out of subcontracting and get my own contracts/customers?

Advertize and go door to door if need be. and NEVER, EVER GIVE UP; someone out there will need your services and be willing to hire you!
