Stephen Carlson was my "go-to" repair person for the first 12 years that I lived in Virginia Beach. He was multi-talented and could fix anything from air ducts to fences to assembling book cases. When I was out of the country, and my house flooded from a cracked toilet tank, after Safe Pro pumped out the water and removed the carpets and cabinets, I trusted Stephen to do everything that it would take to put my house back in order. I did not have to come back to the U.S. as I might have if I had to oversee the job myself and hire strangers. He cut out the wet baseboard in every downstairs room, replaced that, took out everything damaged by water, painted all the rooms, put in new flooring, new cabinets, a new toilet and vanity, and more. It was great to have someone I could totally trust to do an honest job with so many different aspects that needed repair. Over the years he rerouted an air conditioning vent from garage to a bedroom, put up a good-looking fence, fixed various leaks, hung ceiling fans and smoke alarms, assembled bookcases, put up shelves, planted trees, put borders around a garden, roofed the shed, squirrel-proofed the attic, power washed the siding, cleaned the chimney from mold, changed locks on the doors, hung pictures and clocks, and advised me on ways to save money. At my office, he assembled steel book cases, created a shipping table, cleaned ceiling fixtures and vent filters, painted and advised. In my storage room, he built raised flooring to protect boxes of books from any possible flooding. If there was a job he had never encountered before, he researched ways to do it.

I hired Steve to replace a dishwasher for me, so already we knew it was a challenge to begin with. Steve nailed it, and was gracious enough to work around my difficult and ever-changing work schedule. The man is polite and professional and highly sought out for a reason.
