I used Tutoring by Denise today and after the one hour session with my son, he came away feeling very positive about his math abilities. He stated that she was very understanding and very patient with me. I wish I would have found her at the beginning of the school year. I would recommend her very highly!!!! We will continue to use her.

I used DeniseTutors for my son 7 yr.old son Brandon who was having trouble with his math. She was very professional and definately has a way with kids. Brandon is very active and Ms. Denise was very patient and made learning fun! Brandon loved her and still asks about her even though our sessions have ended. I would definately recommend this company!

A. Ensure that the provider has a plan of action, timeframe to test progress and discuss methods of learning that will be used. Additional provider should have a baseline for your child and assess progress from that baseline.
A. If I were a customer I would wish I knew how to get my child to want to learn and succeed without getting frustrated.
One of the secrets that I would share is to build up your child's confidence while they are learning and apply what they are learning to how it is relevant to them.
A. The parent or student should have an idea of the frequency of sessions and the duration (start date to end date) that they would like.
Additionally they should the strengths and weaknesses of the student and be able to provide previous completed work (homework, quizzes, tests, etc.)
Lastly they should have an idea of what progress or success looks like to them.
A. Our tutors are passionate about helping others to learn. We ensure that each child and/or teenager grasps math and reading concepts by using methods that appeal to their way of learning and understanding.
We get them involved. We asks questions as to why they selected their answer and how they came to their conclusions. Additionally we notify the parents via weekly emails on the progress (strengths and weaknesses). We discuss this with each student prior to parent notifications.
A. It is really rewarding to see a student's face when they tell me they have passed their test. I know that we have succeeded when I receive emails and/or calls from students and parents letting me know how grateful they are.
A. Do I provide an assessment of their child's abilities? I do provide an initial assessment of their child's abilities, strengths and weaknesses during our initial consultation. This consultation takes place during our first face-to-face session.
A. One of my favorite stories is from a 3rd grade boy. His mother engaged our services after he was given a second opportunity to pass the CRCT. After receiving reading tutoring he passed the CRCT. He said to me " Ms. Denise I did just like you taught me and I passed, I passed. I'm a 4th grader now." He was so excited and so was his twin brother.
A. I wish they knew that their input in helping their child succeed is extremely important. Their input should include encouragement, knowing what their child's strengths and weaknesses are and communicating with the tutor. They should also understand that their child's tutoring sessions are very important and the sesions should be treated as such.
