A. Graphic Design and mural painting jobs are both unique to the client, but typically in graphic design, I create a logo and then marketing materials, including a website, trade show graphics, letterhead, and brochures, etc to create a complete branding or re-branding for a company. Murals are used to complete a branding campaign and/or to transform a space; to brighten it up; to build on a theme. There is nothing short of remodeling that transforms a room more than a mural.
A. Murals: Recent work is at Ringgold Middle School - in the media center, I recently completed about 700 square feet of upper wall space to completely change the feel of the room, give it color and personality. Recent graphic design work has been for Southeast Lineman Training Center - lineworker.com is just a small portion of an entire rebranding I have done for the school, starting in April, 2011 with the new catalog.
A. For graphic design, the message is everything. How the message is derived is a very important part of the creative process. without that, you might be screaming the wrong message about your product or service. It's worth paying a professional for what we do best. How much new business would it really take to pay for a professional to handle your design work? Usually it's only a few.
Short of remodeling, there is nothing that transforms a space more than mural painting. It can completely transform a boring office, a kid's room, a commercial lobby or foyer into something exciting, thoughtful, insightful, and even inspirational.
A. When pricing a mural, consider what you would be willing to pay for a mass-produced painting anywhere. Calculate it to the square foot.
When you realize a mural is a custom piece of artwork, made into something really large and impactful, you'll be surprised how reasonable the price is in comparison.
A. Our work stands out because of two things - the quality of our work and the speed at which we deliver it.
A. We like the creative side of what we do, as well as the technical skills that are required to accomplish what we do, where we do it! :-)
A. One of the first questions customers typically ask us, when viewing our work it, "How long did that take you?" or "How did you guys do that?". When it comes to backdrop painting, we even amaze ourselves sometimes at how much we are able to accomplish in a very short period of time. We love transforming any space with backdrops, murals, paintings of any kind or even just a room makeover.
Graphic Design has similar rewards. I enjoy helping anyone get a better ROI in their advertising and marketing materials and getting great results in the end!
A. In looking for a graphic designer OR a mural painter, be sure you compare apples with apples. Just to look at an hourly rate tells you only one thing. To look at the work tells you only one thing. When you are pricing, get the whole picture Look for experience, referrals, turnaround time and even the demeanor of the provider to get a better picture of the true value of the services you are about to pay for.
A. I have several gifts - art, math and organization are just a few. Graphic design is a natural marriage of those gifts. With an eye for art, and a talent for organizing materials, I can literally transform a boring piece of advertising into something that everybody on that company's team is excited about, especially when they get results!
Mural painting was a natural thing for me, too. At the suggestion of painting my bedroom wall as a mural in 1973, I left 3 in my high school and have gone on to paint scenes in 4 states with various subject matter, on various surfaces in just about any style.
A. The Car Barn in Chattanooga, TN is one of the best examples of the type and scope of project we can take on. There are over 2500 sf of murals in the space, as well as about 1500 sf of facades to emulate a small town. From the stamped concrete floors to the stained glass windows and neon signage, Kat Morris Murals & Graphic Design was involved every step of the way.
The mural restoration at Malbus Greek Orthodox Church in Daphne AL is another fabulous example of what we can do. After many others attempted to restore the artwork in the hurricane damaged church, it was David who researched the methods of the period and restored the work to its original beauty.
A. There are no surprises when it comes to our pricing. Each project is bid and approved before we start with exact details of what the customer will be billed. More specifics are listed on our website.
The way we arrive at a price for our work, whether its mural painting, backdrops or graphic design, is based on time. Each mural project has its own variables of access, style and surface. Each graphic design project involves time for the elements involved in each project. We take into account the needs of the projects, along with the variables listed above to come up with a great value for our clients.
Our experience allows you to get the best value for your investment in either the murals or the graphic design because we can arrive at solutions and ideas that will give you what you are looking for within a reasonable timeframe at a reasonable cost.
A. My greatest strength is my life's equity. I have an art and marketing background with formal training in graphic design, along with a variety of life and professional experiences to bring to the table. This allows me to offer insight and practical application to each of my clients, giving them great value, quality of work, and a broad spectrum of possible solutions to apply to their situations and needs.
