Introduction: Designers can range from being underpriced and inexperienced to being unfoundedly expensive and unrealistic for the average homeowner.
I pride myself in being somewhere in the middle -- friendly and approachable as well as reasonable and professional. I have 15 years of experience in room design, murals, faux finishes, plasters and hand-painted furniture, and one thing has never changed over the years. You have to develop a trusting and comfortable relationship with a client before you can pull the vision out of their heads and into their space. Understanding their personality and lifestyle is imperative to creating a home that will reflect their true nature.
My goal isn't to take generic areas and turn them into showcases; it's to create a space that is a true reflection of the client. When a client walks into the space, it should resonate with them and greet them with comfort. When a guest leaves after a visit, they shouldn't just be impressed with colors and fabrics. They should feel like they know the client even better than before.
