- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
My advice for anyone looking to hire a contractor is too ask lots of questions. Feel him or her out and make sure they know what they're talking about. I'd also pay attention to the truck they're driving, the attire they show up in (clean, company name, dressed for business) and the manner in which they treat your home from the beginning. References are huge! Many times home owners don't ask for these but its a big mistake not to. If the contractor does good work and is a professional he will be glad you asked and happy to provide a list of satisfied customers.
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
It's my hope that home owners realize that there are professionals in this industry. Although contractors often get a bad rap for being sloppy, disorganized and unprofessional in all senses of the word. We believe here at Old South Renovations that it's just as important to keep a well maintained job site, speak to neighbors and home owners with courtesy, dress appropriately as it is to provide top quality work. We hold ourselves to a higher standard and I think our customers appreciate that.
