We provide music lessons and courses. Students usually take lessons once a week for half an hour, but may also take longer lessons.

Courses are typically on a semester-length schedule. If you choose to do an individual course, the teacher will let you know the start and the end dates.

We also provide group classes that members can participate in, such as a facilitated African drum circle, concerts, recitals and field trips.

Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. Teaching musical skills and techniques in fun and exciting ways.
Students can learn proper techniques and skills on piano, guitar, drums and voice. Students may also enroll in a theory as a stand alone course.
Typically, Gwinnett Academy holds two recitals per year, giving students the opportunity to showcase what they've learned over a period of time. The holiday recital is usually held close to Christmas time and the Spring recital is typically held in late April, early march and has a more laid-back theme.
Participating in recitals is not mandatort, but to increase performance skills, it is greatly encouraged.

Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?

A. When hiring a teacher from Gwinnett Academy, please keep in mind that although our teachers make learning music fun and exciting, the student and/or adult responsible must take into account that a good practice ethic needs to be enforced at home to acheive optimal results.
Our instructors are always available to answer additional questions about lessons via phone or email so that students receive and maintain the best understanding of the material being taught.

Q. Tell us about a recent job you did that you are particularly proud of.

A. Piano and Vocal instructor and the founder and owner of Gwinnett Academy of Music, Nydia Kelly, recently published a Music Math Workbook.
The workbook is full of mathematical equations using musical notation and is deaigned to help both music and general education students alike.
Users go through 100 addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, radicals, exponents, algebra and combination equations, substituting the correct numerical values for each musical notation.
Music Math:Workbook volume I is available via amazon.com and it's affiliates. Copies may also be found at Gwinnett Academy's physical location.

Q. If you have a complicated pricing system for your service, please give all the details here.

A. Lessons are typically provided for 30mins once a week. Tuition is due in full for the entire month by midnight of the 5th of each month. After which, there is a $20 late fee.
Students may choose a fixed rate plan for the Spring, Summer, Fall semesters or for the entire year. Monthly rates for this plan are calculated based on the number of lessons provided for the chosen time period.
Only lessons missed with a 24hour notice are able to get a makeup lesson. Lessons missed without 24hour notice will be made up at the teacher's discretion.
