- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

We offer heirloom portraits for your home and business meant to be enjoyed and cherished for generations. We are not a shoot-and-burn studio. Our services are not limited to just capturing the images. As digital artists, we are known for fantastic customized options and a wide range of unique products, including movie posters, albums, layouts, storyboards, graphics, and so much more. Our heirloom art pieces generally come with archival framing that will stand the test of time. The process: There are four simple steps we take you through, which are all part of the studio photography experience. 1. Portrait Planning Session (AKA Consultation) The first stage of your portrait photography experience at Cherished Photography begins with a complimentary portrait planning session, also known as a consultation. This is our opportunity to customize and plan the finer points of your photography shoot. We will discuss the style of photography and the appropriate clothing for your chosen style, as well as location options. We will plan the best way to decorate your home with personalized portrait wall art. Different frame sizes and photography collections are designed with you and your home in mind. Completing your portrait planning session will fully prepare you for your photography shoot with an understanding of the investment involved. 2. Photography Shoot With the planning session now behind you, your photographer will have a vision of your goals for your portrait session. With this in mind, we will set about capturing portrait images that truly reflect you and your family. This is the time for fun, and we encourage you to relax and express yourselves. 3. Portrait Viewing and Ordering Appointment About two weeks after your shoot, you will return for your viewing and ordering appointment. In our studio-viewing gallery, you will see your ideas from the planning session come alive. We carefully edit and prepare the best images and guide you through the design and ordering process. Here, you'll realize that they are not just images; they are pieces of art that you will hand down to future generations. With our state-of-the-art software, you will view your images on a digital representation of your own walls. We ask that you provide us with a photo with which to do this. Instructions will be given in advance. 4. Collection Of Photography Once your order is placed, your portraits will be enhanced and handcrafted. Fully finished portraits will be ready to collect approximately eight weeks after your ordering appointment, allowing you to share, cherish and display your definitive moments captured by Cherished Photography for years to come. This final stage completes the portrait cycle at Cherished Photography, until next time! - What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Look for someone who's work you really love. Photography is an art and each artist has their own flair. If you can't decide on that basis than consider the photographer you connect well with. Cost is always something we consider in this economy but there is so much more to photography than the price. Consultations are VERY helpful for both you and the photographer. Invest some time into meeting face to face and plan together what you want your session / event to be.
